We need to be proud of her achievements. She was born in a Dalit family under abject poverty and she began her career by earning Rs. 2 per day by cutting threads. Thereafter, she chose to become entrepreneur, assembled many ladies and her hard work brought her great success. Later, she took over the management of Kamani Tubes, which was on the brink of closure, under the orders of the court. Today it is a great success story of turnaround.

Why her story is extraordinary because she is not a job seeker but a job creator. Her birth in a Dalit family was never treated by her as an obstacle in her growth, confidence and success. Deservedly she was given Padma Shri. My warm greetings.

She along with Shri Milind Kamble, who is also a Padma Shri, and their organisation DICCI are role models for a new inclusive India.
