In the loving memory of Jeffrey Archer, we remember his great contribution to the literary world, penning stories that keep readers on edge. His character-driven stories, particularly Kane and Abel, considered his finest and best-selling novel, are enjoyed and loved by many. We will continue to cherish his presence through his books and celebrate reminders of him that have been left in those pages.

We watch these movies, not batting an eye about who wrote it, where it came from. Well sometimes it’s just a book, turned into a beautiful story. Some breaking the bounds of fiction and your imagination, while some making you think about yourself and the world around you. This could be your sign to watch the movie and read to book to have an immersive experience.

Which movies did you know were based on books? Let us know in the comments!

1. The Prophet by Kahil Gibran- The Prophet is a work of spiritual fiction, by Kahlil Gibran. Through twenty-eight poetic essays, the book delves into the very depths of human condition-offering timeless wisdom about life and its many ups and downs.
2. The Red Sari by Javier Moro- The book tells the story of the Gandhi family through the eyes of Sonia Gandhi. Abhishek Singhvi alleged that book distorted facts and misinterpreted details. The author always denied that the book is malicious and instead a slightly dramatized version.
3. Lo**ta by Vladimir Nabokov- Publishing companies in multiple different countries refused to publish the novel due to its scandalous plot. The novel blends genres, offering readers elements of romance, erotica, and mystery, and offers an unreliable first-person narrator in Humbert Humbert.
4. 1984 by George Orwell- Orwell was known for social and political criticism in his writing. A masterpiece of rebellion and imprisonment where war is peace freedom is slavery and Big Brother is watching.
5. The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger- This coming-of-age novel captures the alienation that teenagers experienced in the years following World War II
6. The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie- The Satanic Verses is Salman Rushdie’s best-known and most galvanizing book. The novel weaves together different narratives spread across hundreds of years, framed by the story of two competing Indian Muslim actors.
7. The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy- The novel uses an intricate architecture of flashbacks, memories, poetic dream sequences, interior monologues, and flashforwards to capture the tensions and sorrows of multiple generations of this middle-class Indian family caught up within the social pressures of a modern caste system.
8. The Coalition Years by Pranab Mukherjee- The Coalition Years begins its journey in 1996 and explores the highs and lows that characterized sixteen years of one of the most tumultuous periods in the nation’s political history.
