We are pleased to announce the second hands-on four-day training program on Introduction to Archaeozoology "Bones & Beyond: Unlocking the Past Through Faunal Remains" from June 4th to 7th, 2026. The workshop's resource persons are Dr. Pankaj Goyal of Deccan College, PGRI, Pune, and Miss Nibedita Naskar of Deccan College, PGRI, Pune.

The workshop will cover various aspects of archaeozoology, such as scope and significance, mammalian osteology and dentition, skeletal element identification, taphonomy of mammalian bones - weathering, gnawing, and butchery marks, curation and laboratory techniques - NISP, MNI, and basic faunal analysis, economic and cultural insights - linking data with the human past, bone tool typology and technology - studying and replicating ancient tools, and so on.
