Huge congratulations to Omkar Kadam (Dept. of IT) for securing 7th place at the Meta PyTorch OpenEnv Hackathon Grand Finale in Bangalore. Known as India's biggest AI hackathon, the event was sponsored by Meta, PyTorch and Hugging Face, and powered by Scaler School of Technology.

Only the top 800 teams qualified for the on-campus finale, where they pitched their work directly to Meta engineers. Omkar's team finished in the top 7, walking away with a $2,000 prize, recognition from Meta and Hugging Face, and an interview opportunity with their AI teams.

On 23rd April 2026, the Class of 2024-25 became our newest alumni. Three decades of engineers walking out of these gates, and every single batch has carried the Terna name a little further into the world.

Big win for Team Terna!

Rahul Khedekar and Vedang Joshi from TE Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering bagged the Best Innovation Award in the Hardware category at Vyoma, the national-level prototype competition hosted by AISSMS College of Engineering, Pune. Their project, the PCB Ecosystem, took top honours.

Terna Engineering College, Nerul signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the 97 Artillery Brigade, Military Cantonment, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, in 2025. Under this collaboration, the institution had the opportunity to serve as an Academic Partner at the Military Civil Fusion Conclave 2026 (13–14 April 2026).

A Government of India platform where the armed forces, DRDO, ISRO, industry veterans, MSMEs, and academia came together to shape India’s defence future in an era of hybrid and technology-driven warfare.

Over two days, the conclave addressed four critical themes that define the road ahead:

→ Capability building and the future of warfare, anchored in defence, industrial corridors, and MSME integration

→ GRC, GTM, and industry partnerships, through closed-door dialogue with defence startups and leaders

→ Defence manufacturing after Operation Sindoor, aligned with Industry 5.0, compliance, and geopolitical flux

→ The role of youth, academia, and AI in strengthening defence and countering emerging cyber threats

When Terna sat at that table, it was not one college speaking. it was the ambition of every engineering student in India.

EESA TEC's Chai Pe Charcha brought Utkarsh Mishra (Bharat Electronics) and Rohit Singh (Earthnetic Enterprises) back to campus for a two-hour conversation with electronics students about what core engineering careers actually look like from the inside.

No motivational quotes. Just real timelines, real struggles, and real answers over chai.

ByteShow 2026 turned the IT Labs into a courtroom where every project had to defend itself live. Students from FE to BE across multiple colleges brought their best builds in AI/ML, web dev, and open innovation.

Four industry judges from Elevence System, Priar Technoworld, Pratastren Infotech, and Cognizant asked the hard questions. No slideshows. No rehearsed scripts, just working software and the people who built it.

Sixty students walked into the seminar hall with zero idea how to build a robot. By the end of the day, they had working bots on the floor.

EESA's hands-on robotics workshop skipped the theory-heavy approach and went straight to circuits, controllers, and code. Students from Electronics, EXTC, and Mechatronics built robo bots from scratch under the guidance of faculty and team leads. No simulations. No watching someone else do it. Just wires, boards, and figuring it out with your own hands.
