As we are awaiting Diwali, buying ourselves new clothes and gifts, there are people out there who can’t afford to celebrate like us. No one to get gifts from, no fancy sweets or parties.
We are planning to make this year different by “lighting up” someone else’s Diwali. ✨🌟✨

With this thought, The Community of Social Initiatives of NMIMS, Navi Mumbai has planned a Donation Drive- “Khushiyon ki Diwali”. We believe that it is these small gestures that come from the heart, which can make a big difference in someone’s life. 💫⚡️

We encourage the students and faculty to be a part of this and donate in whichever city they are- whether to your house help, or to an NGO. Here are some more details of the event:

What can you donate👖🍚🍴🎒📚💊📱💻🩴: Clothes, Books, Bags, Utensils, Electronics, Medicines, Shoes, Ration (Rice, Sugar, Pulses, Tea, Biscuits)

Condition of items: Please make sure that the items you donate are in a decent condition for someone to use. Remember you are gifting someone for Diwali so it shouldn’t be torn/worn out🎁💝

Whom to donate⚡️: You can go to an NGO, donate to your househelp or their family, or anyone else you know in your locality- sweepers, workers etc.🧑‍🏭👷🧹

Duration⏱: 29th October to 3rd of November, 2021

Outcome📸🤳: Participants need to click a picture or video while donating and send us latest by 3rd of November at [email protected].
Won’t it be great to see all those smiling faces when you light up their Diwali!!

We urge everyone to take part in the initiative and celebrate with us by bringing light, prosperity and happiness to someone's life.

Happy Diwali to all of you🎇✨💫⚡️⭐️🌟✨

We are excited to share that the NMIMS campus group of Bharat Soka Gakkai (Indian affiliate to Soka Gakkai International) will be conducting the virtual exhibition for the students of NMIMS on 28th July 6pm - 7:30pm.

The “Seeds of Hope & Action” (SOHA) exhibition is a joint initiative of the SGI (Soka Gakkai International) and the Earth Charter International which stresses our interconnectedness with the rest of the community of life and the need to broaden our sphere of compassion. It encourages viewers to overcome feelings of powerlessness and highlights the fact that a single individual can initiate positive change. The SOHA exhibition also introduces a positive vision for sustainable living that can contribute to the realisation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Conducted by students for students, this evening promises to be an engaging and mutually inspiring interaction. Don't miss the email and rsvp soon!

“Ban every form of plastic before plastic bans every form of life on the earth”

Of all the epidemics that plague us in modern living, the plague of single-use plastics seems to be the most pervasive. 🤕
Items like plastic bags, straws and disposable cups have turned into things that we cannot imagine living without, can we? As citizens of a world that is slowly getting choked by the plastic we consume and dispose of, it seems to be high time to do something for our next generation and gift them the beautiful world as it was handed to us. 🙏🏻🤲

It’s time to convert the pledges and awareness on social media to real actions and jump in. Let us all take an initiative and get done with plastics, especially Single-Use Plastics, today!

Do something drastic – let's cut the plastic!

Taking the same idea forward, Community for social initiatives, NMIMS, Navi Mumbai is launching an activity:

What needs to be done?
Creative and innovative ways to reduce single use plastic > Take a picture with what you’ve created > Post it as a story on your social media handles and challenge two more people to do the same > Do not forget to tag CSI

How much time do you have?
Till July 4th, 2021

What will you get?
Certificate of appreciation by CSI and a feature on the social media pages of NMIMS.

"Volunteers don't necessarily have TIME, they have HEARTS" - Elizabeth Andrew

Keeping the tradition alive, CSI is proud to present its torch bearers for the session 2021-2022.

We are excited to have our new team onboard and hope to continue our services to the community with the same zeal and dedication.

A special mention to the star performer of CSI, Pragun Kathuria. He has outdone himself with every task he takes up and is equally responsible for making all our initiatives a great success.

When you volunteer, you gain more than you give!

Working for an NGO can be a challenging task. However, it also is the most satisfying experience one can have in their lives. The We Care team at NMIMS, Navi Mumbai in collaboration with Mrs. Archana organized an interactive workshop for the MBA first year students. The session was full of fun activities and gave the students the essence of why it is important to volunteer for a cause. Our little contribution of time and skills can help someone find new hope in their future. By helping individuals, we contribute to the upliftment of the community and the nation as a whole.
We are thankful to Mrs. Archana for beautifully explaining to us how the volunteering journey exposes us to endless possibilities whilst positively impacting multiple people.

"You don't have to struggle in silence"

*Depression, anxiety, panic attacks* or any mental health conditions are NOT a sign of weakness. Don't give in to the stigma. Getting help, speaking about it and dealing with it - is a sign of strength. Some of the most comforting words in the universe is the moment when you find out that your struggle is also someone else's struggle, that you're not alone and that others have been down the same road.

We, the *NMIMS CSI family*, in collaboration with *VFC - Voluntary for a cause - a Non-Profit Voluntary Organization*, urge you to speak out if you need help.

We request you to send the same to anyone who might find this useful and encourage them to fill the form below by *7th November 2020 11:59PM* to set up a Free Counselling Session with an expert.

Kindly fill the form given below.
