Hon’ble Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Shri Jual Oram, inaugurated the National Consultative Workshop on the Forest Rights Act (FRA), 2006, reaffirming it as landmark legislation to redress historical injustices faced by forest-dwelling communities. His address underscored the importance of effective implementation of FRA to secure community forest rights and strengthen participatory forest governance.

The National Consultative Workshop on the Forest Rights Act, 2006, was successfully held today at CSIO. Organised by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs () and the National Tribal Research Institute (NTRI), the workshop fostered meaningful dialogue on strengthening forest governance, ensuring effective implementation of FRA, and empowering tribal and forest-dwelling communities.
