Dr. Madhumita Sengupta, Associate Professor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Gandhinagar, is documenting and digitizing sustainable knowledge practices followed by communities across Gujarat.

As part of the ANRF Convergence Centre of Excellence in Archaeology and Traditional Knowledge Systems, her work aims to build a digital archive that preserves these practices and helps researchers understand their significance and contemporary relevance.

By connecting historical knowledge with modern research, this initiative seeks to preserve cultural heritage and explore how traditional wisdom can contribute to a more sustainable future.

ANRF has selected 10 Convergence Research Centres of Excellence to address complex societal challenges through interdisciplinary research integrating social sciences, humanities, science and technology.

Our visits to the 8th India International EV Show 2026, Bharat E-Mobility and Minerals Leadership Summit 2026, India Electric Motor Expo, and Powertrain and Traction Expo offered valuable opportunities to engage with developments across electric mobility, minerals, electric motors, and powertrain technologies.

For the MAHA-EV Mission, these interactions help us understand industry priorities, identify areas where research and development can address real-world needs, and explore opportunities to strengthen collaboration between researchers, academic institutions, and industry.

Building a strong domestic EV ecosystem requires continuous learning, meaningful partnerships, and a clear understanding of the gaps that still need to be addressed.

Every conversation is an opportunity to connect research with industry needs and move closer to a more self-reliant electric mobility ecosystem for India.

Reaffirming its commitment to integrity, transparency and ethical conduct, organised a pledge-taking ceremony as part of Vigilance Awareness Week on the theme “Probity for Prosperity” (सत्यनिष्ठा से समृद्धि).

Dr. Nishant Verma, Joint Secretary, ANRF, administered the pledge to the officials, while Dr. Monika Agarwal, Scientist F and Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), ANRF, administered the pledge to the staff.

Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, CEO, ANRF, joined the pledge-taking ceremony virtually and addressed the attendees, emphasising the importance of integrity and ethical conduct in official work and the responsibility of every individual in fostering a culture of probity and accountability.

The ANRF Centre of Excellence for Rural Livelihoods and Development (CoE-RLD) at IIT Dharwad, led by Dr. Gopal Parsury, aims to address rural distress through digital inclusion, sustainable resource management, clean energy transition, and participatory governance.

By integrating Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and participatory planning, the Centre is developing an adaptable framework for inclusive, transparent, and community-driven rural development.

How have humans and climate influenced each other over the past 150,000 years?

An interdisciplinary research team at IIT Gandhinagar, supported by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), is establishing the Centre of Excellence on Human Climate Interactions and Environmental Histories to build a database documenting human–climate interactions across South Asia.

The multi-institutional initiative brings together researchers from IIT Gandhinagar, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Physical Research Laboratory (Ahmedabad), and CHARUSAT University to address a major gap in our understanding of India's environmental past.

By reconstructing long-term climate and human histories, this research aims to generate insights into how societies adapted to environmental changes—and how that knowledge can inform climate resilience today.

Under the aegis of , is advancing workplace cleanliness, efficient records management, and optimal utilisation of office space through a systematic exercise to organise official records and clear its Compactor Rooms.

📊 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲

• 2,942 physical files identified, segregated and removed from Compactor Rooms.
• 463 physical files weeded out in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Office spaces and surrounding areas cleaned and organised, promoting a cleaner, tidier and more efficient workplace.

Undertaken in coordination with the concerned Programme Divisions and designated staff, these efforts aim to streamline records management, facilitate the refurbishment of office spaces and promote a cleaner, more organised and efficient workplace.

Through these initiatives, ANRF reaffirms its commitment to cleanliness, responsible resource utilisation, administrative efficiency, and good governance.
