As per government rules , Public Information Officers have to answer any RTI application within 30 days of it's filing
After that period , the official will be fined ₹ 250 per day till he disposes of the application
The fine also has a maximum limit

Filing RTI is free but if you want hard copies of documents then separate fees are to be paid at the rate of ₹2 per page

But non BPL people have to pay 10 ₹ as application fees
Further fees if required will be asked from you by the concerned department
