Fraternity JMI strongly condemn the killing of three Muslim youths in Sambhal during police firing on a Muslim group resisting the survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid. The group was protesting against the visit of a court-appointed survey team to the mosque for the second time, following allegations by Hindutva groups that a temple was demolished to construct the mosque during the Mughal era.

This incident aligns with a pattern of targeting religious minorities and their places of worship, reminiscent of the Babri Masjid case, the Gyanvapi Masjid in Varanasi, and the Shahi Masjid in Mathura.

We demand immediate justice for the victims' families and accountability for those responsible. Fraternity JMI condemns the state-sponsored targeting of minorities and holds the authorities accountable for enabling such actions.

Urgent Call for Action Against Admission Scams

The sports quota admission process for 9th and 11th grades at Jamia Millia Islamia has been marred by malpractice. Out of the 24 reserved seats, an alarming 74 students were selected, highlighting corruption within the administration. Reports from The Wire further expose favoritism in hostel admissions and interviews, depriving deserving students of their rightful opportunities.

Fraternity Movement demands immediate action from the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Sports Director, and School Principal to ensure transparency and accountability, safeguarding the interests of meritorious students.

FRATERNITY DU

Reaffirm Equity, Redefine Power

As our nation contends with deepening societal divides - fascism, caste politics, and Islamophobia—these challenges increasingly pervade our academic institutions, silencing minority voices and stifling dissent. At Delhi University, Fraternity DU stands as a powerful beacon of resistance and empowerment. We are not here merely to seek positions of power but to build a dynamic platform where every student can express their opinions freely and boldly.

We are resolutely committed to eradicating fascist ideologies and confronting caste politics head-on. Our mission is to advocate tirelessly for minority rights and champion the cause of social justice. Dedicated to fostering an environment where democracy thrives, representation is inclusive, and anti-caste politics are actively promoted. A space where students can voice their beliefs without fear of suppression or ostracism. We stand as a formidable ally for every student fighting against fascist oppression and right-wing extremism. A powerful advocate for female students and all marginalized groups, empowering them to reclaim their political voice and presence.

As we approach the upcoming Delhi University Students' Union elections, join us in transforming our university into a haven of equitable discourse, fearless activism, and unyielding justice. At Fraternity DU, we are dedicated to building a future grounded in equity and solidarity, where all voices are heard and democracy prevails. Let us unite to forge a campus where justice and brotherhood are not just ideals, but lived realities.

Fraternity DU is here to stay.

Fraternity Movement JMI condemn the detention of 28 Bengali Muslims in Assam and reject the unjust labeling of individuals as "foreigners" based on religion. This is part of a broader pattern of discrimination against Muslims in India. We demand their immediate release, the abolition of Foreigners' Tribunals, and accountability for those responsible. Let's unite against injustice and protect our rights.

Demand Justice Now!

On August 28th, after class, a 2nd-year B.A. (Sanskrit Honours) student was sexually harassed by Girish Chandra Pant, the H.O.D. of the Department of Sanskrit, in his office. An FIR has been lodged against him under section 75, yet the Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) administration has not officially issued a circular confirming his suspension, despite public statements to the contrary. We demand an immediate suspension of Pant with a formal JMI circular.

If these demands are not met, the Fraternity Movement will occupy the entire campus until justice is served. We also call for the immediate implementation of GSCASH at JMI to ensure a safe and supportive academic environment for all students.

Stand with us in demanding a safe and just campus!

Fraternity Movement JMI highlights the urgent need for systemic change to address and prevent abuse. Abusive leaders must be removed from power, and rapists should face appropriate legal consequences. Survivors deserve mental and judicial support to speak out against their abusers. Let’s stand together for justice and work towards a society where women can live freely, with dignity, and have their rights protected.
