Harmony in Devotion:Bhakti Sangeet Utsav
Sahitya Kala Parishad, the art and cultural wing of the Delhi Government, proudly presents Harmony in Devotion: Bhakti Sangeet Utsav, a three-day festival honouring the rich culture of devotional music and exhibiting the various musical expressions of faith and devotion.
The event will take place in Nehru Park, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, from September 15 to 17, 2023, starting at 6:30 p.m. The Bhakti Sangeet Utsav has an unwavering focus on showcasing how artists transform into spiritual channels, capturing the spirit of devotion in their melodic renditions.

Prashant and Nishant Mallick
Prashant and Nishant Mallick popularly known as ‘Mallick Brothers’ belong to the illustrious music family of Darbhanga Gharana which is more than 450 years old music tradition and they represent the 13th generation of this musical lineage thathas produced many musical masters. Their training in Dhrupad music started atan early age under the tutelage of their father Prof. Pt. Prem Kumar Mallick, renowned Dhrupad vocalist. Later they also had the privilege to learn the coreof Dhrupad gayaki from their grandfather Dhrupad legend Pandit Vidur Mallick. The Mallick Brothers are currently among the finest Dhrupad vocalist of India. With the soulful voice and powerful singing style they have developed into artists of great maturity and are considered to be one of the torchbearers of the new generation in the field of Dhrupad music.

Dr. Madan Gopal Singh
Madan Gopal Singh (b 1950, Amritsar) is an Indian composer, singer, lyricist, actor, screenwriter, film theorist, editor and polyglot.He has composed and sung the poetry of Rumi, Shah Husain, Sultan Bahu and Bulle Shah and has also translated contemporary poets such as Bertolt Brecht, Federico García Lorca and even John Lennon especially his Imagine which he translated into Hindustani – and sung them extensively. He has sung for films like Kumar Shahani's Kasba and Khayal Gatha and Mani Kaul's Idiot. As a singer, he travelled with the legendary Kurdo-Persian singer Shahram Nazeri to ancient Sufi towns such as Isf0ahan, Hamadan and Kermanshah. He also performed at the 2nd Sufi Soul World Music Festival held in Lahore, Pakistan in 2001. Singh was invited to the Smithsonian Folk life Festival 2002, Washington as a presenter-performer.

Meeta Pandit is a leading and popular vocalist of Hindustani Classical Music. She has enthralled audiences both in India and in more than 25 countries. She is the sixth in the unbroken lineage of legendary musicians of Gwalior Gharana. Meeta is a Top Grade artist of All India Radio. She is disciple of PadmaBhushan Pt Krishnarao Shankar Pandit and Pt Laxman Krishnarao Pandit and is the first woman in the Pandit family to take up music professionally.
Prasar Bharati & Public Service Broadcasting Trust jointly made a film on her titled "Meeta - Linking a Tradition with Today". She was sent as Artist in Residence by the French Embassy. She is a recipient of many awards and honours including Pt Kumar Gandharva Award, Sangeet Natak Akademi Award- Bismillah Khan Award, Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award, Jayprakash Narayan Award , Sur Mani, Yuva Ojaswini, Yuva Ratna, & FICCI Award for music. She has also many albums to her credit.

Kalapini Komkali
Endowed with a wholly original, melodious and extremely rich voice, Kalapini is widely recognized as one of the finest and well - trained classical vocalists of the younger generation. She is the daughter and disciple of the legendary Pandit Kumar Gandharva and has also been trained by her illustrious mother, Vidushi Vasundhara Komkali. Kalapini learnt from her distinguished parents not only the technique and grammar of her art but also inherited a capacity for creativity and reflection.
Kalapini's wide repertoire of ragas and compositions is further supplemented by the presentation of the traditional songs of Malwa representing the folklore and ethnic flavour of the region. The Sagun-Nirgun bhajans (devotional songs) of the various saint poets rendered in her inimitable style provide an ascetic flavour to Kalapini's music.

Dr Subhadra Desai
Dr Subhadra Desai is a professional Vocalist of Hindustani Classical genre, and an academic engaged in Music Education and Research. She has toured and given successful solo performances in India and overseas including the US, UK, Germany, Korea and Bangladesh. She is an empanelled artist with Indian Council for Cultural Relations, and an accredited A grade artist. Subhadra has composed and presented ancient texts in Sanskrit and Pali in classical Ragas. These include Advaitic hymns from Vedas and Upanishads;Ashtapadis from Gita Govinda; Hindu marriage hymns from the Rigveda and Yajurveda; and Buddhist texts from Dhammapada, Sutta Nipata and others. All India Radio in the Devotional Music genre.
