To support timely processing and ensure that students can begin their studies in Finland as scheduled, the identification of student applicants will be prioritized from 1 June to 17 July 2026.

During this period, identification appointments will be reserved specifically for students but not their family members. This measure is intended to facilitate a faster identification process and reduce delays during the peak student intake season.

Students who are applying together with family members are strongly advised to submit applications and complete identification for all applicants before 1 June 2026, if possible.

Key Points of the Temporary Policy

Prioritization period:
Identification of student applicants will be prioritized from 1 June to 17 July 2026.
Family member appointments:
During this prioritization period, family members accompanying student applicants will not be able to book identification appointments.
