India Energy Congress, an apex congregation of energy professionals from across the sector, is the annual flagship event of WEC India.
The Congress is growing in stature with every passing year. At each edition of the congress energy experts from within the country and across the globe come together to deliberate on issues highly relevant to the sector. The 6th edition of the Congress will comprehensively look at the issues of Integrated Energy Planning & Governance and the actions required for an inclusive growth, what WEC calls
as "Energy Trilemma", a delicate balance between Energy Security, Energy Equity and Environmental sustainability. IEC2015, the current edition assumes even greater significance in the context of the several recent developments in the Indian energy sector. Discussions on strategies to debottleneck and consolidate the sector will be integral to this edition Congress. The Congress provides an opportunity to gain first hand insight into policy makers’ vision and viewpoints of experts on the how these changes are expected to pan out. WEC India (previously WEC-IMC) is the country member of World Energy Council, a global and inclusive body (estd.1923 with over 90 country members) for thought leadership and tangible engagement in the pursuit of sustainable energy. WEC India functions under the patronage of Ministry of Power and with the support of all energy ministries and leading organisations in energy sector of the country. WEC India is now moving towards assuming newer and greater roles relevant to the Indian energy sector. In line with this objective, WEC India has recast it’s vision “to be the foremost energy think-tank in the country and the voice of energy sector”.
