On November 26, 2012 the renowned political activist Arvind Kejriwal launched this political party of India at Jantar Mantar.

Arvind Kejriwal was initially working closely with another renowned political figure Anna Hazare. After internal dissention, Arvind Kejriwal has formed his own political party on October 2, 2012 to which Anna Hazare and some of his his prominent associates such as Kiran Bedi have thoroughly objected.
