“Recent uncertainty around a possible 50% reciprocal tariff kept buyers cautious and exporters in defensive planning mode. The India–US trade pact changes this decisively.

By resetting reciprocal tariffs to 18% and easing key non-tariff barriers, the agreement delivers not just relief, but real acceleration. For services, the biggest gain is predictability — enabling longer-term contracts, smoother cross-border delivery, and deeper integration with US-led supply chains.

SEPC India also sees a strong services tailwind for consumption exports — across gems and jewellery, textiles and shrimp — driven by capabilities in design, compliance, testing and logistics.

This pact will meaningfully upgrade India’s services exports.”
