Kushinagar: India Tibet Coordination Office has embarked on a Tibet Awareness Talk Series themed “India-Tibet Relation: Shared Heritage, Shared Future” in Uttar Pradesh between 10th – 17th December, 2025. Beginning at Kushinagar, Bharat Tibbat Samvad Manch – Tibet Support Group under its National General Secretary Dr. Shubhlal Shah, team ITCO led by Coordinator Ms. Tashi Dekyi, along with Ven. Kunchok Tenkyong, Namgyal Monastery, Kusihnagar in the presence of the Chief guest, had laid a program during the 36th anniversary of H.H. the Dalai Lama’s Nobel Peace Prize Day at Namgyal Monastery Hall, Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh

Dignitaries include chief guest Ex MLA Shri Rajnikant Mani Tripathi, guest of honor Professor of Vinod Mohan Mishra, principal of Buddha PG College, Kushinagar, Dr. Shubhlal Sah, Bharat Tibbat Samvad Manch - Tibet Support Group, National General Secretary, Ven. Kunchok Tenkyong, Namgyal Monastery, Kushinagar, and Master of Ceremony Mr. Diwakar Mani Tripathi, District Vice President, BJP, Kushinagar, Shri Chandra Bhushan Singh, Dr. Abhai Kumar Ravi, Principal of V.D.M. College, Tamkuhiraj, Kushinagar, Ex Principal, Shri Ranjeet Upadhyay, Principal Dr. Arvind Vidya, and Lecturer cm NCC head Mr. Ved Prakash Mishra of Maharshi Arvind Vidya Mandir Kasia, and Mr. Sontosh Dutt Rai, District Secretary of BJP, Kushinagar.
Around hundred participants gathered at the venue, including Kushinagar Municipality’s Chairman and his colleague, professors of Buddha P.G. College, Kushinagar, Buddha Degree College, Gorakhpur, and Buddha Intercollege Professor of Buddha PG College, Kushinagar. Participants also included Print and News media bodies, including Rashtriya Sahara, UPNTV, HNT News, and Danik Bhaskar. Over 50 NCC students from BIC college, Monks, and businessmen.

First and foremost, a video compilation on Tibet was displayed while dignitaries and participants were gathering at the Namgyal Monastery Hall. The program began with the Lighting of the Lamp by Chief Guest Shri Rajnikant Mani Tripathi, Ex Member of Legislative Assembly, BJP, followed by singing of both the Indian and Tibetan National Anthem. A short introduction of the Program was brief by the Master of the Ceremony, Mr. Diwakar Mani Tripathi, District Vice President, BJP, Kushinagar, followed by felicitation of the Dignitaries on the Dias by the India Tibet Coordination Office.

The moment of the day was carried on by Dr. Shubhlal Sah, Bharat Tibbat Samvad Manch - Tibet Support Group, National General Secretary, introducing the significance of Tibet and why it matters to India. Continued by V.M. Mishra, Principal of Buddha PG College, he enlightened the audience about the diplomatic engagement between India and China, specifically the failure of the Panchsheel Agreement of 1954. Principal Ji, also a professor, gave academic insights into India-Tibet relations.

Keynote speaker Ms. Tashi Dekyi, Coordinator of the India Tibet Coordination Office (ITCO), New Delhi, gave detailed knowledge on the India-Tibet Relationship, sharing insights on the theme of the Tibet Awareness Talk Series. Touching on the ground realities of Human Rights Situations in Tibet under repressive policies aimed at the sinicization of Tibetan identity. Briefing on the dark realities behind China’s colonial-style boarding school, and geopolitical threat to India’s Himalayan borders, Ms. Tashi Dekyi pinpointed what China did to Tibet and how India could be the next target.

Chief guest Shri Rajnikant Mani Tripathi, Ex MLA, BJP, spread light on the Strategic location of Tibet and how India is also connected to Tibet’s moral principles, culture, as well as religion. He stated, “India’s Support to promoting Human rights and moral principles in Tibet will be forever, and such programs are much needed for the Indian youth in the region to be aware of the India-Tibet Relation He also stressed and requested ITCO to continue visiting and organizing such programs.

The program was followed by a PowerPoint presentation on the theme of the program, giving pictorial and quantitative information on Tibet - its location, size, language, historical independence, diplomatic engagements, and the current CTA’s Middle Way Approach to carrying forward the Tibet Movement. The presentation was enjoyed by the audience following up with active interaction during the photo session and further interaction during tea and snack time.

One day before the program, on the 9th of December, team ITCO, led by its Coordinator Ms. Tashi Dekyi, held a preliminary meeting with members of Bharat Tibbat Samvad Manc, led by Tibet Support Group Kushinagar’s National General Secretary Dr. Shubhlal Sah, along with Ven. Kunchok Tenkyong, Namgyal Monastery, Kushinagar. Since ITCO’s last visit in Kushinagar was in year 2023, the preliminary meeting brought up different instances of past programs they jointly organized, reviving stories of reminiscence including the extend of enthusiasm they had, practical challenges they faced, and unforgettable successes they had achieved. This face-to-face meeting gave us a chance to witness the bond shared between Tibetans and Indians in the region, as the meeting was graced by a lively touch ofthe unique bond shared among the TSG members, including professors and journalists, the head of Namgyal Monastery, Kushinagar, and the ITCO team.

We are more encouraged and committed to embark on the remaining journey of our Tibet Awareness Talk Series, themed “India-Tibet Relations: Shared Heritage, Shared Culture”.
