Resonating with the theme for observing International Women Day 2026 “Give to Gain” the National Small Industries Corporation in collaboration with Vyomini Social Foundation has donated 50 sanitary napkin vending machines to various Police stations and Nari Niketan Shelter homes in Delhi under its Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative. These machines were inaugurated by Smt Rekha Gupta, Chief Minister of Delhi in the presence of Dr. Subhransu Acharya, CMD, NSIC and Smt Rashmi Singh,IAS Secretary , Department of Women and Child Development (WCD) for the Government of NCT of Delhi in special ceremony held at Nirmal Chhaya Complex . The Chief Minister in her address appreciated NSIC stating that these vending machines will ensure that women in shelter homes and communities will have easy and dignified access to hygienic menstrual products.

Dr. S.S.Acharya, CMD – NSIC and Chairman- NVCFL and Shri Saravana Kumar Ananthan, CEO, NVCFL participated in the event. Dr. S.S. Acharya as one of the Member of the Jury for the Awards for the VC, AIF industry, gave away few awards during the function. He highlighted the role of NSIC, NVCFL and SRI Fund's contribution in the development of Indian MSME sector.

The National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, successfully organized the 1st National workshop on the MSME TEAM (Trade Enablement and Marketing) Initiative under the RAMP Programme on 24 February 2026 at the ICAR Convention Centre, National Agriculture Science Complex (NASC), New Delhi.
The workshop marked a major step toward accelerating digital transformation and market integration of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), in line with the Government’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. The event was graced by Shri Keshvendra Kumar, Joint Secretary (AFI), Ministry of MSME. Senior officials and key stakeholders present included Shri Kartikeya Sinha, Director (Planning & Marketing), NSIC; Ms. Ankita Pandey, Director – RAMP; Shri Rajesh Jain, CGM, NSIC; Shri Vidya Sagar Singh, Senior General Manager & Head, DIC Cell, NSIC and Shri Vibhor Jain, CEO, ONDC.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from representatives of 36 State Governments and Union Territories, MSME entrepreneurs, Industry Associations, ONDC Network participants, and digital commerce partners including ONDC. The interactive session facilitated meaningful dialogue, addressed various stakeholder queries, and reinforced a collective commitment to maximize MSME on-boarding onto ONDC Network helping MSE’s in driving India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.

A high-level delegation from the Republic of Tajikistan, led by Mr. Sherali Kabir, Hon’ble Minister of Industry and New Technologies and accompanied by H.E. Mr. Lukmon Bobokalonzoda, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to India, visited NSIC on February 20, 2026.

The delegation was received by Dr. S. S. Acharya, CMD, NSIC and Mr. Kartikeya Sinha, Director (P&M). Bilateral discussions focused on identifying areas of mutual interest and exploring avenues for cooperation, particularly in capacity building, skill development, technology transfer and creating linkages between MSMEs in identified sectors.

The visit also included a guided tour of NSIC’s Technical Services Centre at Okhla, New Delhi, where the Hon’ble Minister was briefed on NSIC’s initiatives in skill development, entrepreneurship promotion and technical support services that enable MSMEs to adopt modern technologies and improve product quality and productivity.

The interaction reaffirmed the commitment of both sides to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the MSME sector and promote inclusive industrial growth.

A three-member delegation from the Republic of Suriname, led by Mr. Rafiq Ilahi, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation (EZOTI) and accompanied by Ms. Sunaina Mohan, Chargé d’Affaires, Embassy of Suriname in New Delhi and Mr. D. Prahladsingh – Policy Advisor visited NSIC on 18 February 2026.
The purpose of the visit was to hold discussions with NSIC leadership, to understand MSME support system in India, gain insights into NSIC’s activities and explore potential business and cooperation opportunities.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Dr. S. S. Acharya, CMD, NSIC, along with Mr. Kartikeya Sinha, Director (P&M) and Mr. Gaurav Gulati, Director (Finance). During the meeting, NSIC’s initiatives for MSME development were presented, highlighting areas of potential collaboration.
As part of the visit, the delegation was given a guided tour of the NSIC Livelihood Incubation Centre and the Advanced Training Centre at Okhla, New Delhi. The delegates appreciated NSIC’s facilities and noted their suitability for supporting MSME development in Suriname. They also expressed keen interest in exploring avenues for cooperation with NSIC.

An official delegation from the Arab Republic of Egypt, headed by Ms. Angy Elyamany, CEO of the Rural and Environmental Industries Support Fund (REIS), Ministry of Social Solidarity and accompanied by Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim, Head of the Commercial Office at the Embassy of Egypt in New Delhi, visited NSIC on February 12, 2026. The purpose of the visit was to understand best practices in promoting inclusive economic growth, entrepreneurship development, skill enhancement and market access for small enterprises, as well as to explore potential avenues for bilateral cooperation.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Dr. Subhransu Sekhar Acharya, Chairman and Managing Director, NSIC and Mr. Gaurav Gulati, Director (Finance), NSIC. During the meeting, Dr. Acharya presented an overview of India’s MSME ecosystem and highlighted NSIC’s key initiatives and interventions aimed at strengthening small industries and advancing social and economic empowerment through enterprise creation.

The visit also included a guided tour of NSIC’s Incubation Centre and Advanced Training Centre at Okhla. The delegation conveyed strong interest in pursuing further engagement with NSIC in areas like creation of employment for empowerment.

A high level official delegation from the Republic of Fiji, led by Mr. Esrom Immanuel, Hon’ble Minister for Finance, Commerce and Business Development, accompanied by H.E. Mr. Jagannath Sami, High Commissioner of Fiji to India, visited NSIC on February 10, 2026. The visit aimed to gain insights into NSIC’s activities and explore potential business and institutional cooperation opportunities in the MSME sector.
The delegation was warmly received by Dr. Subhransu Sekhar Acharya, Chairman & Managing Director, NSIC and Mr. Gaurav Gulati, Director (Finance), NSIC. During the discussions, Dr. Acharya gave a broad overview of India MSME ecosystem and NSIC’s initiatives and key interventions for the growth and development of MSMEs, including technology, credit and marketing support, skill development and livelihood incubation programs and international cooperation activities.
As part of the visit, the delegation was also taken on a guided tour of NSIC’s Incubation Centre and Advanced Training Centre, Okhla. They noted that NSIC’s Rapid Incubation model for entrepreneurship development and employment generation along with the Advanced Training Centre, hold strong relevance for fostering MSME growth in Fiji. The delegation expressed keen interest in collaborating with NSIC in these areas.
Officials from the Ministry of External Affairs and NSIC also participated in the interaction.

The Hon’ble Minister for MSME graced the 71st Foundation Day of NSIC and emphasized the need for inclusive growth, ensuring that the benefits of development reach every section of society. The Hon’ble Minister complimented NSIC for its role in Enterprise creation and employment generation and congratulated NSIC on completing journey of 71 years in nation building and its dedicated service to the MSME sector and lauded its role as a catalyst in strengthening and nurturing India’s vibrant micro, small and medium enterprises sector.

The 2nd NSIC Foundation Day Lecture was delivered by Prof. S. Mahendra Dev, Chairman, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM). The lecture provided an insightful overview of the Indian economy and underscored the resilience and growth trajectory of India’s economic landscape. He also emphasized the critical role of MSMEs in India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047.

On this occasion, Shri S. C. L. Das, Secretary, Ministry of MSME, Dr. S. S. Acharya, CMD, NSIC, and Ms. Mercy Epao, Joint Secretary, were also present and addressed the gathering.
