In a landmark step towards inclusion, safety and digital empowerment, the Indian Navy and the Navy Welfare and Wellness Association have partnered with ProjectChetna.in, an initiative of the Ridlan AI Foundation, to introduce innovative, QR-enabled “Suraksha Kavach” pendants for specially abled children of Sankalp School and for elderly members of the naval community living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

The MoU, signed on 17 Oct by Mrs. Shashi Tripathi, President , Cmde Vijay Kumar Jha, Cmde (Naval Welfare), and Mr. Akshay Ridlan, Founder, Ridlan AI Foundation & ProjectChetna.in, marks a pioneering use of technology for welfare.

Each “Suraksha Kavach” pendant securely stores vital identification and medical details via QR code, ensuring immediate assistance during emergencies, enhancing care and ensuring peace of mind for families.

This initiative underscores ’s mission of inclusive welfare through innovation and strengthens the Navy’s commitment to harnessing technology for safety, compassion and community well-being.

The second edition of the biannual Naval Commanders' Conference 2025 was conducted from 22 to 24 October 2025 at , . The three-day, apex-level conference served as a vital forum for the Naval Commanders to deliberate on issues of operational preparedness, maritime security, capability development, and Tri-Service integration. The conference commenced with the inaugural address by the Chief of the Naval Staff. Emphasising the evolving geostrategic environment, the highlighted 's role in safeguarding national maritime interests through preparedness, adaptability, and regional engagement. Reaffirming the Navy's status as a ‘Combat Ready, Credible, Cohesive and Future-Ready Force’, the CNS lauded recent operational deployments, capability augmentations, and joint missions. He also underscored progress towards a fully Navy by 2047, driven by innovation, technology induction and iDEX initiatives.
The Hon'ble Raksha Mantri, Shri Rajnath Singh, addressed and interacted with the Naval Commanders on 23 October 2025. He acknowledged 's vital role in safeguarding national interests and commended its high level of operational readiness and robust deterrent posture. He affirmed that Indian Navy's presence in Indian Ocean Region is a matter of comfort for the friendly nations, while it is a source of discomfort for those who seek to destabilise the region. He also reiterated that a self-reliant Navy is the foundation of a confident and powerful nation, and Indian Navy's efforts towards enhancing its capabilities through indigenous equipment has made it the flag bearer of Aatmanirbharta. He outlined the need to harness technology and tactics urgently to out-manoeuvre our adversaries The Chief of the Defence Staff, Chief of the Air Staff, and the Cabinet Secretary also interacted with the Naval Commanders. during his address outlined the importance of integration, jointness, and resource optimisation. On the sidelines of the conference, the Sagar Manthan event held on 22 October, brought Naval Commanders, subject matter experts, and thought leaders together to deliberate on contemporary issues.

In a landmark initiative, Mrs. Shashi Tripathi, President , along with Cmde SM Urooj Athar, Cmde (Naval Education) and Ms. Rabmeet Kaur, CAO Drishti IAS , signed a first-of-its-kind MoU with Drishti IAS Academy on 17 Oct to extend dedicated civil services coaching support to the naval community.

The MoU offers 100% to 25% concessions on coaching for Civil Services, State PCS, SSC CGL and other government exams for naval personnel and their dependents (Sahara, serving and retired).

This collaboration reinforces ’s mission to empower naval families through education , nurturing ambition, building confidence and inspiring excellence in service to the nation.

The Circars ArenaX – new multipurpose sports complex – was inaugurated at by Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, Chief of Staff , on 23 October 2025, epitomising the Navy’s commitment to , and excellence.

In a landmark stride toward educational empowerment, Mrs. Shashi Tripathi, President , and Cmde SM Urooj Athar, Cmde (Naval Education), signed an MoU on 17 Oct with Prof. (Dr.) Sahana D Gowda, RV University, Bengaluru.

The MoU offers 100% fee concession for two wards of naval personnel who made the supreme sacrifice, 50% for ten wards of serving personnel, and 25% for five wards of retired personnel.

This initiative reinforces ’s mission to strengthen naval families through education, empowering the next generation with knowledge, opportunity and pride in the Navy’s enduring values of service and excellence.

and personnel engaged in cross deck visits and discussed matters of common interest. Other activities included professional interactions, operational planning and sharing of best practices. A combined session was conducted, fostering unity and camaraderie.

During the port call at , , Captain Rajat Kumar, Commanding Officer , called on Rear Admiral Nobuhisa Yamaguchi, COS, , Yokosuka District, and other local dignitaries including Suprintendent Kobayashi Hitoshi, Chief of Police and Rear Admiral Kondo Shuji, Chief of Coast Guard, Yokosuka region. During call on, the Commanding officer discussed issues on enhancing interoperability and professional exchanges towards strengthening maritime cooperation.

On 17 Oct, the ladies of the Eastern Naval Command gathered to bid a farewell to Mrs. Sandhya Pendharkar, President (ER), through a beautifully curated celebration filled with warmth and fond memories. The afternoon brimmed with camaraderie as members honoured her inspiring journey with engaging interaction, a visual tribute and vibrant cultural performances - from an energetic dance face-off and songs to a surprise flash mob.

In her address, Mrs. Pendharkar encouraged everyone to remain connected and continue serving the community with purpose. Her legacy of leadership and empathy continues to inspire the NWWA fraternity.

'Mahe' was delivered to on 23 October 2025. This advanced vessel will safeguard our coastal waters with cutting edge Anti-Submarine Warfare capabilities. Built with over 80% indigenous content, Mahe reaffirms the Government of India's vision of .
