The Committee on Government Assurances, Lok Sabha, took up assurance on Cyber Warfare and interacted with senior officials from the Indian Coast Guard, Indian Navy, BEL and DRDO on 6 October 2026 at Bangaram Island, Lakshadweep.

Discussions focused on strengthening India’s cyber preparedness and addressing emerging challenges posed by Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Technologies in the evolving security landscape.

High Altitude Platform System (HAPS), a long-endurance stratospheric aerial surveillance platform designed and developed by ADRDE, Agra was successfully flight tested.

The experimental flight attained an altitude of 21 km above mean mean level (AMSL) and remained at an altitude of 20 km AMSL for more than 30 minutes, while carrying useful instrumentation systems, before it was commanded to descend back to ground. The system was successfully recovered and flight performance data was analyzed.

Secretary DDR&D and Chairman DRDO Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, today laid the foundation stone for the SONAR Engineering Assembly, Test & Evaluation Center (SEATEC) at the SAROVAR Campus of NPOL, Kochi, in the presence of Dr. Balamuralikrishnan R, DG (NS&M), Dr. Ravindra Singh, DG (R&M), Dr. Duvvuri Seshagiri, Director NPOL and Dr. Bishwajeet Choubey, Director DCWE.

The SEATEC facility will feature an underwater simulation channel and state-of-the-art machinery and equipment for the development, assembly, testing and evaluation of advanced SONAR and underwater surveillance systems. The facility will strengthen indigenous capabilities in underwater technology, enhance Underwater Domain Awareness (UDA) and contribute to India’s maritime security.

रक्षा अनुसंधान एवं विकास संगठन (DRDO) द्वारा आज DRDO भवन में एक दिवसीय DRDO–उद्योग समन्वय बैठक ‘विमर्श 2026 – वार्ता से विकास’ का आयोजन किया गया।

माननीय रक्षा मंत्री श्री राजनाथ सिंह ने कार्यक्रम का उद्घाटन किया। इस अवसर पर सचिव, रक्षा अनुसंधान एवं विकास तथा अध्यक्ष, DRDO, सचिव, रक्षा उत्पादन एवं सचिव, रक्षा वित्त उपस्थित रहे।

कार्यक्रम के दौरान माननीय रक्षा मंत्री ने डीआरडीओ द्वारा स्टार्टअप्स के सशक्तिकरण हेतु नीति का अनावरण किया तथा लाइसेंसधारी उद्योगों के साथ सॉफ्टवेयर सोर्स कोड साझा करने हेतु रूपरेखा का शुभारंभ किया।

माननीय रक्षा मंत्री की उपस्थिति में 13 उद्योगों को प्रौद्योगिकी हस्तांतरण हेतु नौ लाइसेंसिंग समझौते (LAToTs) भी प्रदान किए गए।

माननीय रक्षा मंत्री ने ‘डिफेंस सिस्टम्स फॉर रेजिलिएंट भारत – रक्षा में आत्मनिर्भरता की ओर’ नाम की एक किताब का विमोचन भी किया गया। इस किताब में 2014 से 2026 के दौरान DRDO द्वारा विकसित महत्वपूर्ण रक्षा प्रणालियों का विवरण दिया गया है, साथ ही DRDO में ‘मानव संसाधन आउटसोर्सिंग सेवा अनुबंधों के लिए दिशानिर्देश’ भी शामिल हैं।

इसके अतिरिक्त इंडस्ट्री की पहुँच बढ़ाने और ज़मीनी स्तर पर भागीदारी को बढ़ावा देने के लिए ‘सोसाइटी ऑफ़ इंडियन डिफेंस मैन्युफ़ैक्चरर्स’ (SIDM) और ‘लघु उद्योग भारती’ (LUB) के साथ भी औपचारिक रूप से रणनीतिक MoU (समझौता ज्ञापन) किए गए। DRDO ने घरेलू रक्षा कंपनियों की मैन्युफ़ैक्चरिंग मैच्योरिटी (निर्माण परिपक्वता) को मापने के लिए ‘क्वालिटी काउंसिल ऑफ़ इंडिया’ के साथ ‘सिस्टम फ़ॉर एडवांस्ड मैन्युफ़ैक्चरिंग असेसमेंट एंड रेटिंग’ (SAMAR) वर्जन 2.0 के लिए एक कॉन्ट्रैक्ट पर भी हस्ताक्षर किए।

DRDO & Indian Army signed a Joint Working Arrangement on 25 Aug 2026 to accelerate development of futuristic military technologies for bringing together DRDO, industry, academia & the Armed Forces.

The JWA was signed today between DG Technology Management, DRDO and DG Military Operations, IHQ of MoD (Army), in the presence of Defence Secretary, Secretary DDR&D & Chairman DRDO.

It institutionalises the collaboration between F&T Cell, Indian Army and Directorate of Futuristic Technology Management, DRDO through DIA-CoEs.
