DISSC, along with other organisations of Jamia Millia Islamia, stands against the interventionism of the US-Israeli imperialist nexus and the brutal US-Israeli imperialist attack on Iran.

These imperialist attacks we are witnessing today in West Asia have not emerged overnight; instead, they are the outcome of a long history of imperialist policies and interventions. Powerful imperialist forces have consistently interfered in the internal affairs of weaker and developing nations under the pretext of safeguarding their economic and geopolitical interests. Through military pressure, economic sanctions, and direct military aggression, they attempt to maintain and expand their domination.
This war is yet another attempt by the imperialist-Zionist axis to preserve its hegemonic grip over West Asia — a region rich in oil and gas resources. History shows that regions endowed with natural wealth have repeatedly been targeted by imperialist powers seeking to control them for their own strategic and economic interests. The drive to dominate critical resources such as oil and gas has long been a central motive behind wars, occupations, and aggressive foreign policies.

DISSC firmly believes that as long as the imperialist-capitalist system continues to dominate the world order, wars and conflicts will continue to be manufactured in different parts of the globe. Therefore, it is essential to challenge the entire system that produces and sustains the politics of war, domination, and exploitation.

Today, it is urgent that workers, students, youth, and progressive forces across the world unite and raise their voices against imperialism and Zionist aggression. Intensifying the struggle for a new world order based on peace, justice, and equality is the only path toward a truly humane and liberated future for humanity.
We also condemn the silence of the fascist Modi government in the face of these attacks. The growing closeness of the Indian ruling class with Israel only serves imperialist interests.

Jamia Millia Islamia Students stand with JNU against the Fascist Attack on Student Voices

Stand with the JNU 14! Immediate release of all arrested students & dismiss the false charges!

Joint statement by the Student Organisations of Jamia Millia Islamia
[AIDSO| AIMSU| AIRSO| AISA| CRJD| DISSC| MSF| FRATERNITY MOVEMENT| SFD| SFI| SIO]

We salute the collective determination of JNU students in resisting the brahmanical hindutva fascist forces. We endorse the demands raised by JNU students including,

1. The immediate release of the 14 students sent to Tihar Jail while being given bail on paper.

2. The Vice-Chancellor must be removed from her post for her repeated failures, her casteist rhetoric against Dalit and Bahujan communities, and her enacting violence upon students of the university.

3. Immediate suspension and action against the police personnel who desecrated the portrait of Babasaheb Ambedkar.

4. Withdrawal of all FIRs and proctorial actions initiated to silence student activists.

DISSC (Jamia Millia Islamia) Condemns Police brutality, Manhandling and arrest of JNU students & Demands immediate release of All detained Students

In support of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU), against the casteist remarks made by Sanghi VC Dhulipudi Pandit and demanding the implementation of the new UGC regulations, nearly 1,000 JNU students tried to march towards the Ministry of Education. During this, Delhi Police officer Inspector Atul Tyagi snatched and tore the picture of Baba Saheb B. R. Ambedkar.

The RSS-BJP-backed police, acting on orders from the Hindutva- fascist state and sanghi JNU VC, brutally lathi-charged students, physically assaulted and abused male and female students alike, including JNUSU leaders Aditi, Gopika, Sunil, and Danish. Comrade Danish’s leg was broken, comrade Kavya from Collective was beaten face-down repeatedly, and comrade Aditi was brutally attacked.
Over 40 students from JNUSU, AISA, DSF, Collective PSA, and PDSU—including former president Nitish, Neha, Mani, Ranvijay, Vijayalakshmi, Umesh, Swadha, Satyam, Aman, Ashok, Divya, Shatakshi, Shyam, Nandana, and Rahul—were detained and beaten inside police buses even after arrest.
From biometric installation onwards, the state has targeted students relentlessly. With the police lodging FIRs and arresting nearly 50 students, it’s time to reclaim our Comrades.

Responding to JNUSU’s call, all left-wing organizations and students are marching together to Vasant Kunj.

CONDEMN THE HOOLIGANISM OF ABVP GOONS IN AZIM PREMJI UNIVERSITY

We, the undersigned student organizations (AIDSO| AIMSU| AIRSO| AISA| AISF| CRJD| DISSC| MSF| FRATERNITY MOVEMENT| SFD| SFI| SIO) of Jamia Millia Islamia unequivocally condemn the acts of hooliganism, vandalism, and intimidation carried out by ABVP cadres at Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, today (February 24, 2026).

Students organized a peaceful reading and discussion session to mark the 35th anniversary of the horrific Kunan Poshpora mass r**e incident of February 23-24, 1991, which is a documented episode of alleged sexual violence against women in Kashmir during a security operation of Indian Army. ABVP members disrupted the event through aggressive actions. They reportedly vandalized university property by smearing ink and spray-painting on signage, staged forceful protests inside and outside the campus, and physically assaulted at least one student. They did all this under the claim that the event was "anti-national" or derogatory to the Indian Army.

As students from Jamia Millia Islamia, a campus that has repeatedly defended democratic spaces against intimidation, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to inclusive, secular, and plural campuses free from coercion, bullying, and ideological enforcement through violence.

We call upon all progressive student unions, faculty, civil society, and democratic forces across the country to stand united in defense of the right to question, remember, and demand justice without fear.

*"It was not r**e—it was war"* That night in Kunan Poshpora
In "The Country Without A Post Office" Kashmiri Women Still Awaits the Justice to be delivered.

In Kunan Poshpora, Kashmir on 23rd Feb/ 1991, Indian Army Men mass r**ed and tortured women. For almost three decades, the survivors of Kunan Poshpora have been fighting for justice and dignity. Drunk army men forcefully separated women from their family members and tore apart their pherans and clothes and r**ed them at gun-point. They were told not to shout or else they would be shot. Even minors were not spared.

The Indian State shielded the perpetrators with impunity and has made the survivors to run from pillars to post seeking justice.
There is no reason to think that there has been any change in pervasive ways of the Indian state machinery. Sexual violence has often been used by the state as a weapon against people's movement across the country. In Kashmir the army has used it systematically to silence the voices demanding the right to self determination.
In fact, on the 10th Feb/2020 in the Parliament March from Jamia, Delhi Police unleashed sexual violence on women protestors. Their breasts were squeezed and private parts kicked.

True it was not r**e, but definitely a war waged by the state on the body of women who voice their dissent. It's the same war that is being waged to occupy and silence Kashmir.
DISSC believes that justice must be done and perpetrators must be punished. We stand with the people in Kashmir who are living through the burnt of this war while at the same time, not moving an inch back in their demand for the Right to Self-Determination.

Against The Supreme Court's On the New UGC Rules

India's higher education system has long been shaped by caste discrimination, institutional oppression, and deep social inequality. The institutional killings of countless Adivasi-Dalit-Bahujan students-such as Rohith Vemula, Payal Tadvi, and Darshan Solanki-have made it painfully clear that universities are not merely sites of knowledge production, but also spaces where Brahmanical- Manuvadi dominance is reproduced and enforced.

DISSC strongly condemns the coordinated efforts of so-called upper-caste groups and Manuvadi, Hindutva-fascist forces aligned with BJP-RSS, who are mobilising against the UGC Equity Regulations 2026 and demanding the rollback of even these minimal progressive reforms. The Supreme Court's stay is not an act of neutrality-it is a decision that overlooks centuries of structural injustice. Unless caste is acknowledged as a structural reality reality, student suicides will not stop.
Thus, the current SC-ST-OBC movement around the UGC Equity Regulations 2026 is not limited to defending a single policy. It raises a far deeper question: Is the Indian state, the judiciary, and the education system willing to honestly recognise caste-based inequality and take concrete steps to dismantle it or not?
Real progress demands the enactment of the Rohith Vemula Act, the re-publicization of education, restoration of student unions and representative bodies, implementation of GSCASH, and concrete measures to ensure the safety of Muslim and minority students. Without addressing these foundational inequalities, the cycle of student suicides will continue exposing the collective failure of society and the justice system.

1.  UGC Equity Regulations 2026
4. Rohith Vemula Act
6.  Instate GSCASH in all educational institutions and work place
7. A nationwide campus safety and anti-discrimination and protocol must be enforced with legal backing, especially for Muslim-minority and marginalized students.

When Dissent is Criminalised and Punished Without Trial: The State's Relentless Injustice Against Sharjeel Imam and Umar Khalid

For over 5 years, Anti-CAA Political activists Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam have been languishing in jail without trial behind bars under UAPA, without bail while hate-speech perpetrators continue to roam free..

The judiciary system has been hollowed out. Instead of upholding the spirit of justice, it is increasingly reduced to legitimizing the agenda of a Hindutva-fascist regime.

"I AM GLAD THAT OTHERS HAVE BEEN GRANTED BAIL, EVEN THOUGH I STRONGLY CONDEMN THE INJUSTICE THEY WERE SUBJECTED TO FOR SUCH A LONG TIME. AS FAR AS UMAR AND I ARE CONCERNED, I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT WE ARE BEING PUNISHED FOR ORGANISING AND LEADING ONE OF THE MOST SIGNIFICANT MASS MOVEMENTS IN RECENT INDIAN HISTORY." ___SHARJEEL IMAM

DISSC Strongly condemns the denial of bail and demands the immediate and unconditional release of Umar Khalid & Sharjeel Imam."
