Rain in DelhiPeople across North India have been reeling under sweltering heat with temperatures settling above 40°C. And by this time of June, humidity also starts making its presence felt.

But the good news is that a wet spell is approaching the region around June 21, which is expected to pull down the temperatures making way for pleasant weather conditions.
According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, several weather systems will be responsible for giving rain over the plains as well as the hilly areas.

During next 24 hours, winds will gradually start changing from northwesterlies to moist easterlies on account of a low pressure area over west-central Bay of Bengal. In addition to this, a fresh Western Disturbance and induced cyclonic circulation from will be affecting Northwest India.

While Western Disturbance will cause weather over hilly states, cyclonic circulation along with easterly winds will cause scattered light to moderate rain over the plains of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR, north Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

As per Skymet, the rain activity that can be termed as pre-Monsoon showers, is expected to last till three to four days.

In wake of this, pleasant weather will prevail over the entire region as both maximum and minimum temperatures will witness a significant drop.

Southwest Monsoon generally strikes North India during the last week of June, but this year we are expecting it to arrive over the region slightly late in first week of July.
