Indiatourism Delhi (Ministry of Tourism, Government of India), extended its support to the Swachh Paryatan Abhiyan, an initiative of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), through the organization of a cleanliness drive (Swachh Abhiyan) at Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on 30th May, 2026 at 1600 hrs.
The programme was organized with the objective of promoting cleanliness, environmental awareness and responsible tourism practices among visitors to heritage monuments. As part of the campaign, participants actively undertook cleaning activities within and around the monument premises, reinforcing the importance of preserving India's rich cultural and historical heritage.
Adding a creative and educational dimension to the initiative, students from the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Pusa presented a Nukkad Natak (street play) highlighting the significance of cleanliness, civic responsibility and sustainable tourism. Through engaging performances and impactful messages, the students sensitized visitors about their role in maintaining public spaces and heritage sites in a clean and presentable condition.
The successful conduct of the Swachh Paryatan Abhiyan at Qutub Minar serves as a reminder that maintaining clean and sustainable tourist destinations is a collective responsibility. Such initiatives play a vital role in enhancing visitor experiences, protecting heritage assets and promoting India as a responsible and sustainable tourism destination.

Wildlife is best experienced with patience, distance and silence. Loud noises, crowding and constant disturbance can disrupt natural behaviour and harm fragile ecosystems. The true beauty of nature lies in observing without interfering. Respect the wild, move responsibly, and let animals remain undisturbed in their natural home.
