NITS successfully conducted a 2-week Induction Training Programme from 22nd August to 3rd September 2025 for 29 newly appointed Junior Secretariat Assistant.
The training featured expert sessions on key topics including BIS Regulations, RTI, GeM, POSH, GST, Certification, and Hallmarking. It also included:
Daily Yoga sessions for well-being,
CPR training for emergency preparedness,
Field visit to BIS Central Laboratory,
Educational visit to the National Science Museum
The programme was well-received, with participants appreciating its informative and engaging approach, marking a strong start to their careers at BIS.

NITS successfully conducted a 2-week Induction Training Programme from 21st August to 3rd September 2025 for 27 newly appointed Assistant Section Officers. The programme was inaugurated by DDG (Administration) and aimed at providing a strong foundation for the officers’ roles in BIS.
The training featured expert sessions on key topics including BIS Regulations, RTI, GeM, POSH, GST, Certification, and Hallmarking. It also included:

CPR training for emergency preparedness,
Field visit to BIS Central Laboratory,

A Three-Day Capsule Course on National Building Code of India 2016 - Structural Design was held at the Hyderabad Branch Office of BIS, in coordination with the Civil Engineering Department, BIS, during 28-30 August 2025. The course was attended by 36 delegates from the Industry, PSUs, Govt. Organizations as well as Research Scholars from different educational institutes and many other Private and Public Sector Construction agencies.
The module included interactive sessions on various topics such as the Framework of NBC 2016, Masonry, Plain, Reinforced and Prestressed Concrete, Glass and Glazing, Timber and Bamboo, Prefabricated Concrete, Steel Design, Soil and Foundation, Discussion on Defects in Construction leading to Adverse Impact on Structural Performance, along with Case Studies and real-life scenarios. These sessions were delivered by expert faculties like Shri Aman Deep, Managing Director, Creative Design Consultants and Engineers Private Limited, Shri Gohul Deepak, Executive Director, Glazing Society of India, Shri Amitava Sil, Scientist ‘E’ & Head (Kolkata Field Station), ICFRE - Institute of Wood Science and Technology, Shri Amit Barde, Head- Precast Initiative, L&T ECC, Chennai, Dr. Padmaja Gokaraju, Vice President- Designs, Product & Systems Development, Kirby Building Systems & Structures India Pvt. Ltd. and Dr. Jaykumar Shukla, Principal Engineer and Senior Consultant, Geo Dynamics Engineers LLP.
The sessions were very well received by the participants who expressed their keenness to attend more such programmes and requested BIS to organize courses on NBC at Hyderabad/Vijayavada in the future as well.

NITS successfully conducted training program for officials of the BIS from 11th to 14th August 2025. The training was inaugurated by Sh. Vinod Kumar, Deputy Director General (Finance). 30 officials from across the country have participated in the training. The sessions focused on enhancing understanding and compliance with key GST provisions, including Reverse Charge Mechanism, conditions for availing Input Tax Credit (ITC), blocked credits, ITC reversal, and Input Service Distributor. Other important topics such as TDS under GST, return filing, and recent judicial and statutory developments were also covered. Special emphasis was placed on internal audit and CAG audit preparedness. The program aimed to equip BIS officials with the knowledge and tools to ensure robust GST compliance and audit readiness.

On August 8, 2025, a one-day training programme on Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) was successfully organized by NITS at BNBO, Bengaluru. The session was conducted for officials from both BNBO and BNBL, with the objective of enhancing awareness and understanding of workplace safety, inclusivity, and mutual respect.
The training emphasized the critical importance of awareness, sensitivity, and collective responsibility in preventing workplace harassment. Participants actively engaged in interactive discussions, group activities, and in-depth sessions covering key provisions and responsibilities under the POSH Act.
A total of 36 officials attended the programme, reflecting a strong commitment to fostering a safe and respectful workplace environment.

This has reference to the 21st International Training Programme on Management Systems. It is informed that this two-week training program, which commenced on 23 July 2025 at NITS, Noida, concluded on 05 August 2025. The programme is a part of a series of International Training Programmes conducted by BIS under the scholarship schemes of the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt of India namely Indian Technical and Economic cooperation (ITEC) for Developing Countries. The programme was attended by 28 delegates from 18 countries and lectures were delivered by learned and experienced faculties of BIS and external faculties from renowned Organizations on various aspects of Management Systems like Quality, Environment, Occupational and Industrial Safety, Food Safety, Information Security, Energy Management, Service Quality, Social Responsibility and Risk Management to name a few. The class room trainings were blended with industrial visits so as to provide a practical exposure to the delegates and an opportunity to understand the management systems.

On 31st July 2025, the a one-day training programme on Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) was conducted by NITS, Noida, for officials of SRO, SROL and CNBO at Southern Regional Office.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by DDG (SRO) Smt Meenakshi Ganesan followed by an insightful inaugural address by DDG (Training) Smt Chitra Gupta, who emphasized the need for awareness, inclusivity, and zero tolerance towards workplace harassment.
Dr. J. Vasanthakumari, the expert faculty for the session, provided a comprehensive overview of the POSH Act, 2013, including its key provisions and the vital role of the Internal Committee.
The session featured interactive learning through case studies, discussions, and real-life scenarios to strengthen understanding and promote a respectful work culture.
With 58 participants, the programme reaffirmed BIS’s ongoing commitment to fostering a safe and equitable workplace.

On 24th July 2025, a one-day training programme on Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) was organized by NITS at NRO, Chandigarh. The sessions aimed to strengthen awareness around workplace safety, inclusivity, and respect.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Smt. Sneh Lata, Deputy Director General (NRO), who highlighted the significance of awareness, sensitivity, and shared responsibility in preventing workplace harassment.
Participants engaged in interactive discussions, group activities, and sessions focused on key aspects of the POSH Act.
A total of 41 officials from NRO, NROL, HRBO, CHBO, and PRBO took part in the training.

A Two-Day Capsule Course on National Building Code of India 2016 – Fire and Life Safety was organized by The National Institute of Training for Standardization, Bureau of Indian Standards at NITS, Noida. The course, held during 10-11 July 2025, was attended by 35 delegates from various PSUs, Govt. as well as Private Organizations and freelancers/consultants from across the country.
The course included interactive lectures and presentations on Fire and Fire Risks, Regulatory Framework in the country, Fire Prevention, Life Safety, Fire Protection, Additional Occupancy-wise Requirements, Special Requirements from High Rise Buildings, Atriums, Commercial Buildings and Car Parking Facilities, Special Occupancies (Hospitals, Malls & multiplexes, Datacentres), Metro Trainways & Metro Stations, followed by Case Studies.
The course incorporated a rich faculty pool of highly experienced industry professionals including Shri R.C. Sharma, Former Director, Delhi Fire Service, Shri G.C. Mishra, Principal Consultant & Director, SAVIRAM Engineering Consultants Pvt Ltd, Noida, Shri M.V. Deshmukh, Director, Govt. Affairs for Fire Safe Indian Foundation [Director (Retd.), Maharashtra Fire Services] and Ms. Rashmi Bhardwaj, Deputy Chief Architect, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.
The course was very well appreciated by the participants who looked forward to attending more such programmes.

The National Institute for Training and Standardization (NITS) organized a one-day training programme for Senior Multi-Tasking Staff (Sr. MTS) and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) of BIS on 09th July 2025, with 23 participants attending from across the country.
The programme featured focused classroom sessions covering key areas such as duties and responsibilities, vigilance, conduct rules, and computer proficiency—designed to enhance the participants’ professional knowledge and efficiency.
As part of the training, participants also took part in an educational and cultural visit to the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya. This visit offered valuable historical insights and served as a platform to foster team bonding among the officials.

NITS successfully conducted a two-day training programme for the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) members of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on “Conduct of Inquiry on Complaints relating to Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace”, held on 26–27 June 2025. A total of 32 ICC members from Headquarters, Regional Offices, Central Laboratory, and BNBO actively participated in the sessions. The training aimed to strengthen institutional capacity in addressing complaints with sensitivity, fairness, and legal rigour. The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Nishat S. Haque, Deputy Director General (Laboratory), who emphasized the importance of fostering a safe and respectful workplace.
