What does it really take to turn an idea into impact?

Innovation often begins with a spark. But taking that spark from a thought on paper to a solution that can survive the market, attract capital, create livelihoods and solve real problems requires much more, the right skills, mentorship, institutions, networks and opportunities.

The Navachar Mantra Prelude sets the context for this journey.

Bringing together perspectives from government, academia, entrepreneurship, finance, industry and the startup ecosystem, the conversation explores some fundamental questions: How do we identify innovation at the grassroots? What helps an entrepreneur move from an idea to enterprise? Where do skills, access to finance and institutional support intersect? And how can India build an ecosystem where innovation is not limited by geography, background or access?

The discussion features Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Hon’ble Minister of State (I/C) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, Government of India, alongside Mr. Ajay Rana, Deputy General Manager, India Exim Bank; Dr. Angika Kushwaha, Founder and Director, Kashikari Textiles Private Limited; Mr. Amit Jindal, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Febiai; Ms. Garima Sharma, Co-Founder & Director, Yes Madam; and Mr. Ankit Saxena, Vice President - Investments, F**T – IIT Delhi.

This is where the Navachar Mantra conversation begins not merely with the question of what is the next big idea, but with a more important one: What will it take to give India’s next generation of innovators the ecosystem to build it?

Watch the Prelude Episode and follow the series as ideas move towards innovation, enterprise and impact.

Smt. Debashree Mukherjee, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), visited the Skill India Pavilion at Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, where NIESBUD is showcasing its work in nurturing entrepreneurship and enterprise creation.

During her visit, she interacted with entrepreneurs at the pavilion, including participants who have translated entrepreneurship development and sector-focused training into real businesses and market-ready solutions. Among the enterprises showcased are ventures working across solar EPC, rooftop and ground-mounted solar installations, solar equipment, batteries, hybrid systems and O&M services—reflecting how entrepreneurship training can move from learning to enterprise creation.

The interaction highlighted NIESBUD’s role in strengthening India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by equipping aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge, capabilities and confidence to build sustainable enterprises.

At the Skill India Pavilion, these entrepreneurial journeys bring alive a larger message—skills do not only prepare people for opportunities; they empower them to create opportunities for others.
