From silkworm to startup — NIESBUD concludes 15-day EDP on Sericulture and Silk Value Chain.
NIESBUD in association with Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, today concluded an intensive training programme for 25 entrepreneurs from nine states and UTs. Participants presented their business plans at the valedictory session, graced by Chief Guest Ms. Rimple Jindal, entrepreneur and owner of Mayura Textiles.

Brigadier Vikash Batra, Additional Director General (DGR), paid a visit to the NIESBUD (National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development), Noida campus on 30 March 2026, inspecting the classes of three ongoing programmes under the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR).
Brigadier Batra engaged directly with participants, gathered their feedback, and discussed the programmes in detail — underscoring the DGR's commitment to ensuring quality training and meaningful outcomes for programme participants.

Participants of the International Training Programme on Integrated Rehabilitation Care of Spinal Cord Injuries (A Multidisciplinary Approach for Doctors), organised by NIESBUD in collaboration with ISIC Multispeciality Hospital, New Delhi under the ITEC Programme of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, undertook an educational visit to Agra.
The delegation explored industrial units, interacted with industry representatives on enterprise operations, and visited the iconic Taj Mahal and Agra Fort — experiencing the best of India's industrial spirit and cultural heritage.

NIESBUD's ongoing International Training Programme on Entrepreneurship Development (17 – 31 March 2026) featured a power-packed session by Shahnawaz Khan on "Using Digital Marketing and Social Media Tools for Promoting Businesses." 25 enterprising entrepreneurs from Sri Lanka are discovering how social media, content strategy, and digital tools can transform the way they connect with customers and grow their ventures.

A powerful Clinical Session on "Case-based: Diagnostic Dilemmas & Surgical Decision-Making (Neurosurgery + Orthopaedics)" was conducted by NIESBUD under the International Training Programme on Integrated Rehabilitation Care of Spinal Cord Injuries at ISIC Multispeciality Hospital, New Delhi.
Dr. Sriharsha, Dr. B. Mohapatra, Dr. Nagender, Dr. Vikas Tandon, Dr. Udit, Dr. Gurura, Dr. Shanu, and Dr. Tarush Rusta came together to dissect real cases, challenge assumptions, and sharpen the surgical decision-making skills that save lives every day.

NIESBUD's Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) on Sericulture and Silk Value Chain, sponsored by the Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, saw Dr. Naresh Babu, Joint Secretary (Technical), Central Silk Board, deliver a compelling session on 'Commercialization of Technology.' Formally welcomed by Shri Dilip Kumar Singh, Dr. Naresh Babu's insights on technology transfer, value addition, and market-oriented innovation resonated deeply with the participating entrepreneurs. Ms. Vishakha, Scientist-D, Central Silk Board, welcomed warmly by Dr. Yamini Jaiswal, further strengthened the session's impact.

Shri Rajiv Tanksale's Micro Lab put participants inside real business simulations. Dr. Swapna Menon unlocked the power of communication for community facilitation. And Prof. Dr. Devidas Gohlar lit the entrepreneurial fire within every Didi and CRP in the room. 35 participants from Maharashtra & Goa — growing stronger every session.

Skilling. Convergence. Enterprise. The high-level briefing between MSDE & MoRD reaffirmed that moving from skilling to scalable enterprise is not just a goal — it is a national commitment. CRP-EP Didis are not just being trained — they are being empowered to lead, mentor & transform their communities. Structured skilling of community cadres is the backbone of women-led enterprises in rural India, and the MSDE-MoRD convergence under CREP-EP is making it a reality.
