80 YEARS OF VALOUR | HONOURING LEGACY, STRENGTHENING BONDS

As part of the 80th Raising Day commemorations of Headquarters Western Command, a series of cultural and commemorative events were held at from 25–27 Sep 2026, bringing together serving personnel, defence civilian employees, families, Veterans, Veer Naris and distinguished guests to celebrate eight decades of valour, service and camaraderie.

Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh, AVSM, SM**, Army Commander, , graced the celebrations and interacted with the fraternity. Specially curated films chronicled the Command’s illustrious 80-year journey, while the felicitation of Veterans, Veer Naris and distinguished contributors honoured their service, sacrifice and enduring association with the Command. Stirring performances by the Army Symphony Band added grandeur to the occasion.

The celebrations reaffirmed the enduring bonds of tradition, camaraderie and togetherness that have strengthened Western Command across generations.

As part of , turned commitment into action across Ambala, Patiala, Dappar, Nabha & Sangrur Cantts from 17–25 Sep 2026.

From clearing accumulated waste, leaf litter & deadwood to creating awareness among the next generation, the campaign went beyond cleanliness. It inspired Jan Bhagidari, responsible citizenship & a culture of sustainability. 🌱 300+ Army Public School students joined poster-making, awareness sessions and interactive activities on Waste Segregation & the 3Rs - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

The Inter Formation Yoga Championship 2026–27 brought together 150+ Army personnel at Yol Cantonment, showcasing the powerful synergy of physical agility, mental resilience and disciplined focus.
