NCC was introduced in Bihar in the year 1948 with 1,950 Senior Division cadets and 4,050 Junior Division cadets. It was then organised as Circle HQ and Units.
The strength of the cadets rose considerably due to NCC being made compulsory in 1963.

Applications are invited from eligible Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Havildars (Hav) for hiring as Contractual Instructor Staff in NCC Directorate Bihar & Jharkhand.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Retired from Army in the rank of Havildar.
- Completed colour service commensurate to rank
- Medical Category SHAPE-1 at the time of discharge
- Age limit: 54 years for NCO
SELECTION PROCESS:

REMUNERATION:

The Governor of Bihar, Hon'ble Shri Arif Mohammed Khan, hosted an "At Home" function at the Raj Bhavan today, where he presented awards to meritorious NCC cadets and bestowed the Governor's Banner upon NCC Group Patna. Maj Gen A S Bajaj, Additional Director General of the Directorate, delivered a speech highlighting the achievements of NCC in Bihar and Jharkhand. In his address, Governor Shri Arif Mohammed Khan shared his insights on the significance of Dharma. The cadets showcased their talents through a static model display of naval ships and aircraft, followed by a vibrant cultural program that mesmerized the gathering.
