ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region,Patna

Towards the end of IX plan, the ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region (ICAR-RCER), Patna was established with a mandate to address diverse issues relating to agricultural production in eastern states of India. The institute came into existence on 22nd February, 2001 with its headquarter at Patna and its regional stations at Darbhanga, Bihar and Ranchi, Jharkhand. Two KVKs at Buxar, Bihar and Ramgrah, Jharkhand are also attached to the Complex. Since establishment, the institute has undertaken research work in the areas of land and water resources management, crop, horticulture, aquatic crops, fishery, livestock and poultry, agro-processing and socio-economic aspects for agricultural development in the region so as to improve the livelihood of resource poor farmers.

Exhibition | Showcasing Agricultural Innovation
From Research to Real-World Solutions
During the visit of Shri Bhagirath Choudhary, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, accompanied by Dr. M. L. Jat, Secretary, DARE & Director General, ICAR, an exhibition was organised at ICAR-IIAB, Ranchi, showcasing the strength of agricultural research and innovation.
The exhibition brought together crop varieties, livestock and dairy technologies, research achievements, agricultural schemes and farmer-oriented innovations developed by ICAR institutes and Government agencies of Jharkhand.
The dignitaries visited the exhibition and interacted with the exhibits, highlighting the importance of making research, technology and innovation accessible to farmers.
The showcase reflected ICAR’s continued commitment to connecting scientific research with field-level needs and taking useful technologies closer to farming communities.

The stall was visited by Shri Bhagirath Choudhary, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, accompanied by Dr. M. L. Jat, Secretary, DARE, and Director General, ICAR. The stall featured innovative agricultural technologies, crop and livestock products, post-harvest processing technologies, and drone applications, highlighting the institute’s contributions to agricultural research, innovation, and technology dissemination for farmers.
