An IIT Goa delegation led by the Director Prof. Dhirendra S Katti concluded a successful academic visit to France.
We are very proud to have signed the Letter of Intent on 6 October 2026, which is the Indo-French Year of Innovation, with our Indian and French partners in the consortium, facilitated by the Campus Mondial de la Mer. The LoI will help establish an Indo-French Center of Innovation in Marine Science and Technology, which will contribute scientific and technological expertise to both India and France.
At the Sea Tech Week 2026, we also organized two workshops in collaboration with ENIB in the area of marine instrumentation and observation systems and methods. We have been regularly participating in Tech Week since 2018 to highlight the GOAT consortium's works in marine science and technology, in addition to increasing our international cooperation activities in France and Europe.
The delegation had a fruitful meeting with Dr. Srini Kaveri, Director of Maison de l'Inde (India House) at Cite Internationale Universitaire de Paris which is a historically significant place providing accommodation and support to international students, scientists and researchers in Paris.
The delegation had discussion on joint academic programs and research with ENIB, UBO, Ecole Navale and other GOAT partners. The delegation also visited the Nantes Technocampus of NAVAL Group to discuss the status of current collaboration and plan for future collaborative activities with Mr. Francois-Regis Boulvert, International R&T Cooperation Development Director.
The delegation met Mr. Alain Mermet, CNRS Director of Europe and International Affairs department focused on starting collaboration between CNRS researchers and IIT Goa faculty.
