*DLIC meeting reviews Mission YUVA progress in Poonch; 293 cases approved*

*POONCH, SEPTEMBER 25:* A meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) under Mission YUVA was held today under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma to review the progress and implementation of the Mission in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Amarjeet Singh; Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik; General Manager DIC Naheem Un Nissa Bhatti; Deputy Director Employment Abdul Majid ;Chief Agriculture Officer Jograj Slathia ; Chief Horticulture Officer Uttam Lal ; Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Ashraf Malik; AD Handicrafts/Handloom Jyoti Choudhary ; District Sheep Husbandry Officer Dr Bilal, besides Cluster head JK Bank and other members of the District Level Implementation Committee.

The Committee, after detailed scrutiny and deliberations, approved 293 cases under Mission YUVA.

The DC reviewed the status of sanction and disbursement of approved cases. He directed heads of different Banks for processing and ensuring sanction and disbursement of all eligible pending cases lying with the banks within the stipulated timeline.

The Deputy Commissioner further stressed upon all concerned departments and financial institutions to maintain close coordination and ensure timely disposal of applications.

*DC Poonch reviews anti-drug measures at District- NCORD Committee meeting*

*POONCH, SEPTEMBER 25:* Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired the meeting of District Level Narco-Coordination Centre (NCORD) Committee to review the action taken by the enforcement agencies for prevention and control of drug abuse in the district.

The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Shafket Hussain Bhat; Additional District Development Commissioner Amarjeet Singh; Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik; PO-ICDS Fareed Kohli; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Muhammad Sayeed; DFO(T); Addl. SP Ajay Sharma; CMO, Chief Education Officer, College Faculty, Medical Superintendent, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Tehsildar Haveli, representatives of the Drug De-addiction Centre and Motor Vehicle Department, besides SDMs, Tehsildars, SDPOs and SHOs participated through virtual mode.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner sought a detailed briefing from all SDMs, SDPOs, Tehsildars and SHOs regarding the drug-related situation in their respective jurisdictions. The officers apprised the meeting about coordination meetings held at their levels, preventive measures undertaken, identification of vulnerable areas and action initiated against persons involved in drug trafficking.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to install CCTV cameras at strategic locations to strengthen surveillance. He further directed the police to intensify surveillance checking and monitoring at identified vulnerable points.

The Chief Education Officer and College authorities were asked to take measures to keep premises and surroundings of educational institutions free from drugs. Stress was laid on regular assessment, close monitoring and sustained awareness activities to prevent drug-related activities in and around educational institutions.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned authorities to conduct regular inspections and take strict action, including suspension of licences wherever any medical shop is found involved in unauthorised sale of psychotropic drugs.

The Drug Inspector briefed the meeting about vulnerable areas and enforcement measures. The Chief Agriculture Officer was directed to intensify awareness among farmers regarding the prohibition of cultivation of cannabis and ensure that any illegal cultivation is immediately destroyed as per law.

*DC Poonch reviews bottlenecks affecting construction of NH-144A*

*POONCH, SEPTEMBER 25:* Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired a meeting in the Conference Hall of DC Office to review the bottlenecks and issues affecting the construction of Akhnoor–Poonch National Highway-144A.

The meeting was attended by Collector Land Acquisition Defence, Rajouri/Poonch; Assistant Commissioner Revenue; Sub-Divisional Magistrates of Surankote and Mendhar; Officer Commanding 79 RCC GREF; Officer Commanding 58 RCC GREF; Tehsildars of Haveli, Surankote and Mendhar, besides other concerned officers.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the issues related to land acquisition, revenue matters and other field-level hindrances. He directed the concerned officers and agencies to work in close coordination and take time-bound measures for removal of the identified bottlenecks to facilitate smooth progress of work on the Akhnoor–Poonch National Highway smoothly.

The concerned GREF authorities and executing agencies were also asked to maintain close coordination with the district administration and promptly bring any unresolved issue to its notice for necessary intervention.

*DC Poonch reviews implementation of ‘One District One Product’ initiative*

*POONCH, SEPTEMBER 18:* Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma, today chaired a meeting to review the implementation of the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative in District Poonch.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Tahir Mustafa Malik; General Manager DIC Naheem Un Nissa Bhatti and district officers from District Industries Centre, Agriculture, Horticulture, Handicrafts/Handloom, Fisheries, Employment, J&K Bank, SICOP, NRLM and other concerned departments.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on promoting Rajma as the identified ODOP product of the District Poonch, with particular focus on strengthening its cultivation, production, processing, branding, packaging and market linkages.

The meeting also discussed the potential of Rajma cultivation in various areas of the district, particularly Mandi, Loran, Sankot, Buffliaz and other Rajma-producing pockets, with emphasis on identifying local production clusters and improving the livelihood opportunities of farmers associated with the crop.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to work towards developing a comprehensive roadmap for strengthening the Rajma value chain, from production to processing and marketing, so that the unique agricultural produce of Poonch gains wider recognition and provides enhanced economic benefits to local farmers and entrepreneurs.

*DDC Poonch reviews Collateral Damage Cases arising from NH-44A Earth Cutting Work*

*POONCH, SEPTEMBER 18:* District Development Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired a meeting to review the issues related to collateral damages caused due to earth-cutting work along NH-44A, particularly on the Poonch–Surankote road.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Poonch Tariq Mustafa Malik; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Muhamad Sayeed, along with officers from Revenue, Land Acquisition, PWD(R&B) and GREF.

A detailed discussion was held on the cases of damage to land and other properties arising during the ex*****on of the NH-44A road project. The concerned officers apprised the DDC of the status of the cases and the action taken so far.

The DDC instructed officers to conduct proper verification and assessment of the affected cases as per the prescribed rules and ensure timely disposal of eligible cases. He also stressed upon close coordination among all concerned departments for resolving pending issues.

The meeting concluded with directions to the concerned officers to expedite necessary action and submit updates on the progress of the cases.
