*23 JKAP IR Lethpora marks 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) with exceptional fervor and discipline at Battalion Headquarters*

Lethpora; 21 June 2026 (Sun): Today 23 JKAP IR Lethpora observed the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) under the supervision of Shri Gh. Hassan-JKPS, I/C Commandant, 23 JKAP IR emphasizing the theme "Yoga for Healthy Ageing" with the objective "Every Jawan Fit & Fine".

Many police personnel joined an open air yoga session focused on health, mental resilience, and physical fitness. The session helped to manage stress and build fitness among the personnel as well as to balance body, mind and emotions.

Similar sessions were held at A Coy, Awantipora & B Coy, Pampore under their Coy Commander with keen interest and enthusiasm.

*Week long Induction Training Concluded Successfully at 23 JKAP IR Lethpora.*

Lethpora, 17 June (Wed): In view of forthcoming SANJY-2026 duties, a week long pre induction camp which was commenced as per the directions of higher formations of the Department under the close supervision of Shri Gh. Hassan-JKPS (SP) concluded successfully on 16th June, 2026.

More than 100 nominated Officers/ Officials actively participated in this week long induction training programme wherein comprehensive training related to their duties was imparted.

The induction training included weapon handling & maintenance, tactical drills, standard operating procedures, physical fitness, digital Hygiene and other health emergencies. Besides special session was conducted about mental health and stress management.

Special emphasis was being laid down on enhancing the operational readiness, discipline and professional competence of the personnel through practical demonstrations and interactive lecture sessions.

In addition to this, physical fitness activities and games were conducted during evening hours to promote team spirit, endurance, morale, and overall well-being of the jawans.

*Route March Carried by 23 JKAP IR Lethpora*

Lethpora; 16 June, 2026 (Tue): Today on 16-06-2026 a Route march was carried by 23 JKAP IR Lethpora under the supervision of Shri Gh. Hassan-JKPS SP accompanied by Coy Commander's A Coy and B Coy along with other Officers and Jawans of the Battallion from Unit Hqrs Lethpora to Gallander, Pampore.

The drive was carried under the guidance of senior formations of the department within its Area of Responsibility (AOR) to assess and enhance operational preparedness, physical fitness, coordination, unit strength and response capability amid SANJY-2026 duties.

The Route March witnessed the participation of more than 100 Officers and Officials of the Battalion alongwith medical and other necessary assisting teams.

The exercise was conducted in a well disciplined, coordinated and professional manner.

The Route March significantly contributed towards improving coordination, physical endurance, and preparedness of the force to effectively respond to any emergent situation in the area.

*Health Awareness and Medical Preparedness cm Lecture Programme conducted by 23 JKAP IR Lethpora*

Lethpora; 15 June, 26 (Mon): A health awareness and medical preparedness cm lecture programme was conducted on 15-06-2026 at the Battallion Hqrs. of 23 JKAP IR Lethpora for the Police personnel nominated for SANJY-2026 duties.

The lectures were delivered by I/C Commandant Shri Gh. Hassan-JKPS along with other Officers of the Unit and by Dr. Altaf Ahmad deputed by CMO Pulwama. The key topics covered included:

Importance of SANJY duties and SOP's.
Crowd Control & Disaster Management.
Human Rights & Gender Sensitivity on Pilgrimage Duty.
High Altitude medical emergency.
Routes Specific Hazards & Traffic Management.
First Aid and emergency response.
Digital Hygiene.

All nominated Police personnel attended the programme to enhance their medical awareness, preparedness and health-related emergencies during SANJY-2026 duties.

In Pursuance to the directions of PHQ and APHQ and Towards a Greener Tomorrow, a Plantation Drive was conducted today at the Headquarters 23 JKAP IR Lethpora Pulwama. The drive aimed at strengthening environmental conservation efforts, enhancing green cover, and promoting ecological sustainability. Saplings of indigenous species were planted by Officers and personnel of the Battalion with great enthusiasm and dedication.
This initiative highlights the units strong commitment towards environmental protection, climate resilience, and creating a cleaner, greener, and healthier environment .The plantation drive will continue at the Battalion Headquarters with more saplings to be planted in near future.

*RANK PIPPING CEREMONY ACCORDED AT A-COY 23 JKAP IR AWANTIPORA*
Awantipora, May 21:- A rank piping ceremony was accorded by the A-Coy, 23 JKAP IR BN Awantipora. The rank piping ceremony of Sub Inspector's Mohd Abdullah, Gul Mohd and Asst. Sub Inspector's Shafiq Ahmad Dar, Nazir Ahmad, Falail Singh, Gulzar Ahmad & Ayaz Ahmad were held who have been promoted recently.
This simple but impressive function was presided over by Shri Bakar Hussan Samoon -IPS (SSP) Commandant 23 JKAP IR Lethpora along with Shri Sajad Ahmad-JKPS (SSP Awantipora).
Besides this, mementos and garlands were presented to the Commandant 23 JKAP IR BN Lethpora and Coy Commander B-Coy Pampore both of whom are attaining superannuation at the end of this month.
The felicitation was carried out by the Coy Commander A-Coy Awantipora in presence of other officers & officials as a mark of respect and honour.
