Project @ Poona School for Blind Girls-

At RCP Bavdhan Elite, our goal through this project was very clear !

To encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship in young visually impaired girls, helping them identify their strengths……whether skills or qualities; like focus, patience, and precision, Speed ……and use them to build independent futures.

Storytelling is the strongest motivator …. So we chose this path to inspire them… we shared the inspiring success story behind Annie : the braille Teaching / Learning device ; created by then a group of young engineering students who turned Student’s Idea into a very successful startup !! (It was a runaway hit and won huge funding from Shark Tanks, 50 states of US are using this gadget, it has created their market in European Countries and commemorated by Prime Minister of India)

To make this success story of students accessible, we printed it in Braille and gave each girl her own book to take home !!

Our programme “Kahani Annie Chi” at Poona School for Blind, Kothrud was in association with Entreprerana Foundation .
It included a powerful demonstration of Annie ……

Neha, a visually-impaired student who learnt Braille on Annie by herself, read the Braille storybook so fluently.
this a true Rotary Moment !!

FREE EYE CHECK UP & FREE CATARACT DETECTION & SURGERY CAMP

Date: Saturday, 15th November 2025
Venue: Shri Swami Samarth Math, Dattawadi

Once people cross the age of 70 or so, cataract almost becomes a part of life. Vision becomes blurry, which drops the confidence level , and even simple tasks becomes difficult.
The only real solution is cataract surgery, which is simple and effective & not do costly , but for many underpriviledged families even this the cost becomes the barrier …….and that’s where the real struggle begins !!!

To support such people, Rotary Club of Pune Bavdhan Elite, in association with H.V. Desai Hospital and Associations on Dattawadi - Sinhagad Road, organised a free Eye and Cataract Detection Camp.

A total of 375 people were screened.
• 59 cataract cases were identified for free surgery.
• 200 spectacles were distributed FREE ready to use SPECTACLES by RCP BAVDHAN ; to those needing short-sight or reading glasses.
• Selected patients will receive free lodging, food, treatment, and medicines for one month.

This camp gave us immense satisfaction and reminded us why service truly matters.

Project : CHERRY BLOSSOM ( Anaemia Detection Drive)

Anemia is sadly very common in India
Sometimes due to genetics, Sometimes due to poor food habits, and often simply due to lack of awareness.
But the fact remains: low haemoglobin takes away our children of energy, focus, and good health !

Rotary District 3131 takes up a strong drive to detect anemia early and support children with iron and folic-acid supplements, PLUS simple guidance on healthy, iron-rich eating !

On 14th November 2025 , our Rotary Club of Pune Bavdhan Elite conducted the Cherry Blossom :- Anemia Detection Camp at Chetan Dattaji Gaikwad School, Bavdhan by non- invasive method .

We screened 450 students (age group 10–15 ; tomorrow’s citizens, tomorrow’s parents).
A shocking 220 students were found anemic (HB below 10).

Each child has been given 3 months of iron and folic-acid supplements, and a follow-up check will be done after 3 months to track their recovery.

Small steps, big change.
Healthy children, healthier tomorrow.

Say No to Plastic !!

Rotary Club of Pune Bavdhan Elite organized an eye-opening session on 8 Nov 25 for 2 Interact Clubs of Vivekananda E-Learning School, 82B and 153B, Bhavdhan, with

Dr. Medha Tadpatrikar
Twice TEDx Speaker,
A Plastic Warrior, and
Director of Rudra Foundation.

She explained how plastic isn’t bad ;
but careless throwing IS !

Thrown-away plastic is found everywhere
even 11 miles deep under the sea !
Birds , Fish, Animals die after eating it.

Plastic takes 500 yrs to decompose !

Plastic Warrior what she is called as ; Dr. Medha showed how Rudra Foundation gives waste plastic a last use ; turning it into fuel .
One Mantra :
Refuse plastic, Carry cotton bags, Never litter ,
Not to be careless & Throw plastic bags/ wrappers anywhere.
It should be kept separate and never mixed with food or other waste.

She ended by giving students two activities to complete in a month
a step toward real change!

Diwali Celebration at Rotary Club of Pune Bavdhan Elite on 17 Oct 2025 evening was pure joy! ✨

Our enthusiastic club admin team spent over four hours decorating the venue and turning it into a beautiful festive setup ;complete with a Selfie Point !
Everyone gave their time and ideas , planned games, props, dress codes , and the outcome was just fantastic !💥🧨 46 members joined in, played every game, clicked selfies , and enjoyed the great Faraal , great Dinner & music !!

When we work together with such spirit, it brings joy and also strengthen the bond of our Rotary family !!!🌟

Rotary Club of Pune Bavdhan Elite held a second CPR Awareness Program for members of Nilu Phule Kala Academy at Navi Peth, Pune.

The program helped people understand how to help someone during a heart emergency.

Everyone watched live demonstrations, practiced CPR with trainers, and learned that every second counts !
Quick action can save a life !
They also learned how to check for a heart attack and give chest compressions until help ARRIVES ! ❤️

Millet Jatra – Going Back to Our Roots! 🌾

India once lived on millets .
our farmers grew them, earned from millets , and people stayed healthy.
But slowly, millets got replaced by wheat, rice, dal .
Farmers who still grew millets were left without a market.
Now, the world is waking up again to their value — thanks to our Hon.
PM Shri Narendra Modi, who highlighted millets three years ago.
Millets are far healthier than wheat and help prevent many lifestyle diseases.

To support our farmers and spread awareness,

Rotary Club of Pune Camp has been hosting the

Millet Jatra for the past three years.

Farmers display their produce and products, plus

19 other Rotary clubs join as Co-Hosts.

Our Dandiya on the 27th September 2025 evening was just wow !!!!

Everyone looked amazing ….!!!
The girls and ladies were all dressed up, looked stunning in their fineries …….everyone complimenting each other, taking compliments, feeling special …!!

The mood was lively, the beats had everyone tapping their feet, laughter filled the air, and the food added to the festive cheer 💥 👍 ….and with the choreographer there 🥸 everyone got into it completely !!

Moments like these show that Rotary isn’t just work
…….. it’s celebration, laughter, friendship, and pure joy !!
