Mandar is a 13-year old homeschooled student passionate about space science, computer programming, AI, robotics, and aeromodelling.

Like every other kid, he fell in love with airplanes in his childhood. Instead of simply buying toy planes, he decided to build them to get hands-on experience.

At a very young age, he used to discuss science with his parents and often visited science exhibitions, planetariums, and scientific research institutes like IUCAA, ISRO, IPR, etc.

His journey began when he got fascinated by the rockets, satellites, and spacecraft at National Space and Science Fest. He realised his passion towards space and teaching.
But, due to his very young age and certain education criteria of institutes, he was not allowed to participate in any of the space science outreach programs.

There is a stereotypical notion that to pursue rocket science, one needs formal qualifications. We often confuse qualification with intelligence.

His failure to inculcate confidence in others regarding his capability to understand space-related topics drove him to break this stereotype by progressively building a knowledge base with the hope that he will not be denied access to space education, irrespective of his small age or formal education.

In the process of learning, Mandar came across many mentors and organisations who shared similar values. He surrounded himself with the people who believed in his vision, and helped him to learn and grow.

Mandar is 13 year old and currently serving as an Avionics Engineer at STAR, building India's 1st commercial sounding rocket named KALAM. Also, he is serving as a brand ambassador at ‘BHAVISHIKA’ by IndoScience Education Trust (a non-profit NGO) where he is volunteering as a content developer and science communicator to popularise space science among school students.

Mandar’s parents have been instrumental in his journey. Mandar is not just technically sound, but a boy with good values, life ethic and principles. He knows how to fly high by keeping his feet on the ground.

Sky is not a limit for Mandar. We see him as an emerging leader in the domain of Space.
