A new report by NITI Aayog has exposed a major rural gap in Pune district, identifying Velhe and Ambegaon as backward talukas. Despite Pune’s image as a fast-growing IT and education hub, these regions continue to struggle with poor infrastructure, weak healthcare and limited job opportunities. The report lists 177 talukas across Maharashtra as underdeveloped, showing that nearly half the state still lags behind. Experts say this highlights uneven growth, where cities move ahead but rural areas remain neglected. Authorities are now expected to focus on better roads, water supply, schools and livelihoods in these regions.

पुणे महानगरपालिकेच्या हद्दी मधील नागरीकांना कळविण्यात येते की, मा. उच्च न्यायालय येथील जनहित याचिका क्रमांक ७१/२०१३ मध्ये दि.१३/१०/२०२५ रोजी दिलेल्या आदेशानुसार, पुणे महानगरपालिका ह‌द्दीतील महानगरपालिकेमार्फत विकसित केलेल्या रस्त्यावरील खड्ड्यामुळे अपघातामध्ये कोणी जखमी झाल्यास त्यांना अथवा अपघातामध्ये एखा‌द्यास जीव गमवावा लागल्यास त्यांचे नातेवाईकांनी पुणे महानगरपालिका, पथ विभाग, पहिला मजला, शिवाजीनगर, पुणे-४११००५, (फोन नं. ०२०-२५५०१०८४, Email id - [email protected]) याठिकाणी सर्व पुराव्याशी अर्ज सादर केल्यास मा. उच्च न्यायालयाच्या आदेशानुसार गठीत करण्यात आलेल्या समितीमार्फत योग्य ती कार्यवाही करण्यात येईल. याची सर्व नागरीकांनी नोंद घ्यावी.
