The city of Pune, once admired for its heritage, innovation, and vibrant culture, is now collapsing under the weight of administrative failure and blatant neglect. As citizens struggle through flooded roads, pothole-riddled lanes, broken footpaths, and dangerously hanging electric cables, one question echoes through every home, every office, and every slum: Who is responsible?

Basic civic infrastructure, which is every Indian’s right, is now a luxury available only to a few privileged localities. The rest of the city? Left to fend for itself.

Despite collecting thousands of crores in taxes—be it through GST, property tax, road tax, or development charges—what do citizens get in return?

Roads that resemble war zones more than city streets

Drainage systems that collapse at the first sign of monsoon

Construction debris dumped shamelessly across public spaces

No accountability from corporators or the ruling party officials

What’s even more concerning is the silence. Not one ruling party leader has stepped forward to own the failure, to offer a plan, or to apologize to the people.

The Aam Aadmi Party demands answers:

Where has the taxpayer’s money gone?

Who is being held accountable for this mess?

Why has no audit been done of PMC's spending on infrastructure?

Why are roads relaid every year, yet never fixed?

In yet another horrifying reminder of the state’s failure to protect its women, Vaishnavi Bhagawane, a young woman full of dreams and promise, became the victim of dowry harassment and domestic abuse—ending in her tragic death. But this is not just another dowry case. This is a direct indictment of a system that has failed her and millions of women like her under the BJP-led regime in Maharashtra and across India.

The Crime Beyond the Headlines
Vaishnavi was reportedly harassed for dowry, mentally tortured, and driven to a tragic end. The cries of her family for justice have been met with silence and indifference. Despite tall claims of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, where is the political will when women are dying within the four walls of their homes?

When a woman dies because of dowry in 2025, it is not just a family issue—it is a political failure. It is a national shame.

Who Will Be Held Accountable?
Under BJP rule, crimes against women have risen—on paper and in reality. Laws exist, but enforcement is a joke. Justice is delayed, if not entirely denied. Dowry harassment cases go unpunished, especially when the accused are politically connected or from influential backgrounds.

If the BJP can spend crores on PR, on religious processions, and on suppressing dissent, why can’t they spend the same political capital to save Vaishnavis across India?

Why This Case Must Be a Turning Point
We demand immediate arrest and charges under relevant dowry and domestic violence laws.

We demand fast-track court hearings to prevent this case from becoming another forgotten file.

We demand political accountability—not just from the local police, but from the ministers who preach women empowerment while enabling patriarchal crimes through inaction.

A Regime That Fails Its Daughters
From Manipur to Maharashtra, from r**e cases to dowry deaths, the BJP regime has consistently failed to uphold women’s safety as a national priority. Vaishnavi’s case is not isolated; it’s systemic—and that system is propped up by those in power who only care about optics, not justice.

This Is Not Just a Fight for Justice. It’s a Fight for Every Indian Daughter.
Vaishnavi Bhagawane should have been building her career, chasing her goals. Instead, she was silenced by violence and neglected by a system that’s supposed to protect her. We cannot and will not let her name fade from public memory.
