On 01 October 2026, SDPI leaders raised the issue of the non-availability of drinking water in Ashriya Colony, Ward No. 28, Raichur, where residents had been facing a water shortage for the past 10 days. In response, on 03 October 2026, an official from the Municipal Corporation visited the locality and assured residents that a new water pipeline would be installed soon and regular water supply would be restored at the earliest.

On the occasion of **Mahatma Gandhi Jayanthi**, as a mark of respect, a garlanding ceremony was held in honor of Mahatma Gandhi Ji.

During the program, **SDPI Leaders*along with SIR VIRODHI Team*recalled the great sacrifices of Mahatma Gandhi Ji in building a strong nation founded on the principle of **unity in diversity**.

The leaders also strongly **condemned the ongoing SIR process**, terming it **unconstitutional** and against the spirit of democracy.

In **Ashriya Colony, Ward No. 28**, residents have been facing severe hardship for the past ten days due to the **non-availability of water**, caused by damage to the pipeline laid by the Municipal Corporation just three months ago. The issue has arisen due to **poor quality of work**, leaving the locality without a basic necessity.

**SDPI leaders Muhammad Khaja Mohiuddin, Muhammad Shafi, Muhammad Arif Mirza, Sadiq Baig, and their team** promptly raised this concern and assured residents that the matter will be resolved. They have strongly demanded that the **Municipal Corporation take immediate action** to repair the pipeline and restore water supply without further delay.

SDPI leaders have raised concern over the recurring **pothole on the road leading to Vidhana Soudha, Raichur**. Though patchwork was carried out 30 days ago, the poor-quality repair has failed, and the pothole has reappeared.

SDPI **demands immediate repair with durable, high-quality work** to ensure safe and smooth passage for the public.

Targeting of the Masjids Must Be Stopped

It has become common news that Masjids in North Indian BJP-ruled states are being systematically targeted. Several incidents of bulldozing and vandalising the Masjids have certainly damaged the secular fabric of the country. Due to these incidents, feelings of insecurity have been created among the minority communities.

Regarding the Shahi Masjid incident in Ujjain, though the situation is now peaceful, the high-handedness and unruly behaviour of the municipal authorities and the police have worsened the situation into a reckless, ruthless and anarchic condition in the city.
SDPI strongly condemns the high-handedness of Police in this incident.

It is the need of the hour that the regime should always work for the inclusiveness of all people and to strengthen the bonding within society. The ruling sections must not resort to divisive motifs and discriminatory policies.
