NIT Raipur’s Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Silicon Patterns, Hyderabad on April 24, 2026, to strengthen industry–academia interaction in semiconductor and VLSI design and develop industry-ready talent through hands-on learning, real-world exposure, access to government-supported EDA tools, and skill-based training.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. N. V. Ramana Rao, Director, NIT Raipur, Dr. Shrish Verma, Dr. S. Sanyal, Dr. Bijayananda Patnaik, Mr. Rajkumar, Director Raipur Division, Silicon Patterns, Hyderabad, MoU Coordinators and representative's of both institute's.

NIT Raipur, through its section 8 company NIT Raipur Foundation for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (NITRRFIE), in collaboration with the District Administration Dhamtari and BRP Government Polytechnic College, signed a Tripartite MoU to launch the STREE (Skill Development through Technological Resources for Empowering Economic Growth of Women) Project aimed at empowering 300 rural women through skill development, technology, and entrepreneurship.
Funded by DSIR, the initiative will focus on fibre extraction, Kosa silk processing, modern weaving, and market linkages, creating sustainable livelihood opportunities and promoting women-led economic growth in the region.
The MoU was formally signed by Dr. N. V. Ramana Rao (Director, NIT Raipur), Shri Abinash Mishra, IAS (Collector & District Magistrate, Dhamtari), and Shri Amit Mishra (Principal, BRP Government Polytechnic College), in the presence of officials from NIT Raipur, Dhamtari Collectorate and BRP Government Polytechnic College.

NIT Raipur's NSS Team celebrated Baba Saheb Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Jayanti with great enthusiasm through a series of events commemorating the legacy of the Visionary Architect of The Indian Constitution Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on 14th April 2026. The programme was graced by Prof. N.V. Ramana Rao, Director, NIT Raipur, as the Chief Guest and Prof. Manoj Chopkar, Dean (Student Welfare) along with Faculty members and students.
The Celebrations consisted of Debate , Quiz, 'Letter to Dr. Ambedkar' and Think Act Challenge Activities followed by the prize distribution ceremony. The event served as a meaningful Tribute, reinforcing Dr. Ambedkar's enduring ideals of equality, justice and democratic values.

NIT Raipur's Aviation Club conducted BLITZ 2026, a hands-on technical competition focused on CAD, CFD, and FEM, where participants were given on-the-spot problem statements and worked on meshing, applying boundary conditions, running simulations, and analyzing results within a limited time. The event provided valuable practical exposure, and Aviation club congratulates all the winners and participants for their dedication and effort.

NIT Raipur has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MOHSoft Tech Private Limited, a Hyderabad-based firm specializing in Advanced Blockchain Integrations with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (ABIAM), to promote research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in emerging domains contributing to the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The MoU was formally signed by Dr. N. V.
Ramana Rao, Director, NIT Raipur, and Subha Chaganty, CEO and Founder, MOHSoft Tech Pvt. Ltd. The occasion was graced by Prof. Samir Bajpai, Director (In-Charge), NIT Raipur; Prof. Narendra D. Londhe, Registrar; NIT Raipur, Prof. S. Sanyal, Dean (CR & RM) and Mou coordinators.

NIT Raipur’s NSS Team organized a Plogging Drive on 31st March 2026 as part of Zero Waste Week at the campus. Following the motto “Run for fitness, Pick for cleanliness,” volunteers jogged while collecting waste across the campus, promoting both physical well-being and environmental responsibility while reinforcing the importance of a clean and sustainable environment.

The session focused on creating a space where instruments and vocals could be experienced without barriers, encouraging genuine expression and a shared connection through sound.

NIT Raipur's Aashirwad Society organized a visit to Prerna Hostel, National Association for the Blind, Hirapur. During the visit, essential items such as fruits, napkins, and refreshments were distributed, along with school uniform materials. The interaction with students highlighted their determination and positivity, making the initiative both impactful and inspiring. Mrs. Jyoti Ramana Rao, Mrs. Jayshree Dhekne, Dr. Priyanka Tripathi, Dr. Meena Murmu, and Dr. Mridu Sahu and other members were present during this visit to support visually impaired students.

NIT Raipur hosted Anantya 2026, concluding with a dynamic third day featuring insightful speaker sessions and many more. Renowned Keynote speakers Shri Vijendra Chauhan and Shri Acharya Prashant addressed students on themes of self-awareness, independent thinking, passion, and personal growth, encouraging them to move beyond conventional mindsets and pursue meaningful, self-driven success.
The closing ceremony of Anantya 2026 was graced by Dr. N. V. Ramana Rao, Director, NIT Raipur, Shri Vijay Chhablani, CGM, BSNL CG, Ms. Aparna Chandra, Deputy General Manager, BSP, CG and Dr. Samir Bajpai, Head, CDC, along with Organizing committee members, faculty members, officials, staff, and students, where winners of various competitions were felicitated, and panel discussions, speaker session and fun events were also held during the day.

NIT Raipur inaugurated Anantya 2026, its mega technical fest, in the esteemed presence of Shri Gaurav Kumar, IAS, District Magistrate, Raipur, as the Chief Guest. The ceremony was graced by Dr. Samir Bajpai, Head, Career Development Centre (CDC), Dr. S. Sanyal, Dean (CR&RM), Dr. N. D. Londhe, Registrar, NIT Raipur, Dr. Shrish Verma, Professor (HAG), ECE along with organizing comitiee members, faculty members, officials, staff and students.
The three day fest witnessed an energetic start with a diverse range of events including Vigyaan, Startup Expo, Aero Showcase, Robothon, and RoboWar, along with innovation-driven competitions like AI Shield Challenge and CosmoX and many more. Anantya 2026 aims to foster creativity, collaboration, and practical learning by bringing together students from premier institutions on a common platform.
