A Skit performed by NSS volunteers on the topic Nasha Mukt Bharat
According to a report, every year more than one lakh people die due to drug use and excessive consumption of alcohol. About 30,000 people suffer from cancer . This figure is increasing every year. Efforts are being made by the government to stop drugs but that is not enough. That is why today's youth is getting in the grip of drugs, which is not at all right for our culture and country.

Educational health talk on Polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS),Polycystic Ovarian Disease(PCOD)and women's health with free medical health checkup camp By NSS and Honorable chief guest Dr. Neetu Sinha
It is etimated that nearly 20% of all Indian women, that is, about 1 out of 5 women in the country, suffer from PCOD.
The full form of PCOD in medical terms is Polycystic Ovarian Disease. PCOD is a medical condition in which a woman's ovaries generate immature or partially mature eggs. These eggs develop into cysts in the ovaries over time but an increase in male hormones (androgen) causes the formation of several follicular cysts in the o***y each month. This causes anovulation and prevention of the regular release of eggs.
Whereas, PCOS is a metabolic disorder that is more severe than PCOD. In this condition, the ovaries produce a higher quantity of the male hormone and this leads to the formation of more than ten follicular cysts in the o***y every month. This stops the release of the egg leading to anovulation. Symptoms include hair loss, obesity and infertility.
What Problem PCOD May Cause?
The symptoms associated with PCOD often leave a lasting impact on women’s physical and mental well-being. It is estimated that about 34% of the women suffering from PCOD problem also suffer from depression, and nearly 45% suffer from anxiety. This makes it essential to diagnose and manage the symptoms early to prevent PCOD problems in future.
PCOD Vs PCOS
1.PCOS is a serious condition. PCOD is not considered a disease as with the correct diet and exercise schedule, the situation improves. PCOS is a metabolic disorder.
2.PCOD is more common. Almost a third of the women around the world suffer from PCOD. PCOS has a lower number of patients.
3.PCOS has serious complications. Women who suffer from PCOS are at risk of developing diabetes, high blood pressure cardiac-vascular issues, obesity and even endometrial cancer.
4.PCOS is visible early in life. Girls who suffer from PCOS show symptoms of the disease since their teenage years. Acne, excessive hair growth and weight gain are apparent from a younger age due to metabolic disturbances.
5.Those with PCOD don’t have significant fertility issues. With a bit of medical help, they conceive successfully. Women who suffer from PCOS, on the other hand, struggle with infertility. They even have higher rates of miscarriages.
Symptoms of PCOD And PCOS
1. Irregular Periods
2. Heavy bleeding during periods
3. Excess body hair
4. Acne
5. Hair loss or male pattern baldness
6. Darkening of skin or pigmentation around the neck
7. Sleep disorders

The word yoga literally means “to yoke” or “union”. It is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India more than just a practice of physical exercises, Yoga is the coming together of the individual self or consciousness, with the infinite universal consciousness or spirit. Yoga is a method of inquiry into the nature of the mind, which emphasizes practice and direct experience. Yoga is an ancient art based on a harmonizing system for development of the body, mind, and spirit. Yoga signifies ‘integration of personality’ at the highest level. It includes various practices and techniques mentioned in the yogic literature and are collectively referred to as ‘Yoga’.
Yoga encourages a positive and healthy lifestyle for the physical, mental and emotional health of children. Yoga helps in the development of strength, stamina, endurance and high energy at physical level. It also empowers oneself with increased concentration, calm, peace and contentment at a mental level leading to inner and outer harmony. With the help of yoga, you can manage daily stress and its consequences.

On sunday,5th June 2022, our college and NSS unit 3 has organized a program to celebrate 'World Environment Day'. The volunteers participated in the program with full energy. A skit was performed by the volunteers on the topic 'Say no to plastic'.
The aim behind organizing this program was to create awareness among people about keeping the environment clean and safe from pollution. For this purpose, planting more trees to purify the air and say no to plastic for making the earth green and clean was suggested. The program started at 8 am. The sapling was given to each volunteer and asked them to plant it around the campus.
This was an amazing and interesting activity. All the volunteers started planting saplings and the teachers guided them in this regard. Some students cleaned the campus.
Skit performed by NSS volunteers on the occasion of World Environment Day on the topic - प्लास्टिक को कहें ना /Say no to plastic .
Today Plastic pollution is one of the major problem that the whole world is facing together. We are finding microplastic pieces in our waterways, in the food we eat, and in the water we drink. Collectively, we need to take action and say no to plastic.
Plastic waste does not degrade at a sustainable rate. The more we continue to make, the more waste continues to build up. When plastic waste is not disposed of properly, it ends up in the environment, which is causing devastating impacts. Each single-use plastic item we use today adds to the mass problem of tomorrow .
Plastic may take 1000 years to degrade. But it could be much longer. We do know that it can break into tiny microplastic pieces that enter the food chain.
Up to 12.7 Million tonnes of plastic enter the ocean each year which is equivalent weight of 12 Million Elephants
There will be more plastic in the ocean than fish by 2050
88-95% of this plastic entering the ocean comes from just 10 rivers around the world
These huge volumes of plastic are accumulating with conjoining ocean currents to form floating “plastic patches”. The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is the largest one, being roughly three times the size of France
We can reduce plastic waste by the 7 R 's of Sustainability
The 7 R 's of Sustainability
Rethink
Refuse
Reduce
Repurpose
Reuse
Recycle
Remove

Happy world Environment Day
Nature is the crucible in which life thrives. To protect and build a safer, resilient and sustainable Earth, we must restore ecosystems. Healthy ecosystems mean a healthy planet and healthy people.
Healthy Earth can strengthen people's livelihoods, curb climate change, and stop the collapse of biodiversity. These in turn, will help regulate the spread of pandemics diseases and reduce the risk of natural disasters.
In short, restoring and protecting the Earth can ensure good health and strengthen people's livelihood depending on various ecosystems.
We only have One Earth. Let us live sustainably in harmony with nature.

And Importance of oral hygiene
Maintaining your teeth isn’t only about looking good. Poor dental hygiene can lead to problems that are much bigger than an unpleasant smile. Tooth decay and gum disease can affect other parts of your body, including your heart.
Why is it important to practice good dental hygiene?
Good oral/dental health translates to good health overall. Dental problems such as cavities or gum disease can impair your ability to eat and speak properly, cause pain and bad breath. And what many people may not realize, is that poor dental health can have a profoundly, negative affect on areas outside of the mouth, including your heart, diabetes, pregnancy and chronic inflammation, such as arthritis — to name a few.
Some studies suggest that the bacteria in gum disease can travel to your heart and cause heart disease, clogged arteries or stroke. Gum infections, such as periodontitis, have been linked to premature births and low-birth weight in pregnant women. Diabetes reduces the body’s resistance to infection, making the gums more susceptible to infection, which can adversely affect blood sugar. And painful mouth sores, are common in people who have HIV.
Practicing good dental hygiene is so important, because it can prevent these type of oral disease and dental problems. And prevention should be the primary focus.
What are the signs of a serious dental problem?
You should see your dentist if you experience pain, bleeding gums, swelling, both inside and outside the mouth, tenderness, blisters and ulcers that don’t heal, or noticeable changes in color or texture of the soft tissues. These could all be indications of a serious, or potentially serious condition, such as mouth cancer or chronic gum disease.
What are the keys to good dental hygiene?
Keys to good dental hygiene include brushing for at least two minutes twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, flossing daily and seeing your dentist every six months for check-ups and dental cleanings. Diet is just as important. Keeping sugar intake to a minimum is vital. Alcohol consumption should be in moderation. And smoking, or any type of to***co use, should be avoided.
With routine visits to your dentist and good oral hygiene, your teeth should last a lifetime, as they were designed to do.
