FMD vaccination and ear-tagging has kick started in all the parts of Jharkhand under NADCP

National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) was launched in Jharkhand by Hon'ble Chief Minister of Jharkhand Shri Hemant Soren on 20th September, 2020. NADCP aims to eradicate Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) and Brucellosis in livestock. 2.36 crore livestock in Jharkhand would be covered under the scheme in Phase 1.
The programme aims to
1. Control the livestock diseases by 2025 and eradicate these by 2030
2. Vaccinating livestock including cattle, buffalo, sheep, goats and pigs against the FMD.
3. Vaccinating female bovine calves annually in its fight against the brucellosis disease.
