Ever wondered where your blood goes after the chair? Boondh has the whole story. 🩸

Twenty comfy minutes for you. For one little drop, it is the ride of a lifetime: into a bag, through screening (only safe drops get to be heroes), into a fridge, and then to a thalassemia warrior who was waiting for exactly that unit.

Somewhere this week, a child’s good day started in someone else’s arm. Swipe to follow the journey.

Have you ever thought about who received your donation? Tell us in the comments, and tag the friend who should donate with you next time.

Our whole mission, in one line. đź’›

We will not stop until no child is born into the wait.

The wait is a needle every 15 days, for life. It is a family that spends every second week finding blood. Everything Blood Warriors does, every bridge, every screening camp, every counselling session, points at one of two outcomes: the children living with thalassemia are cared for, and fewer children are ever born needing it.

That is the whole of it. If it sounds like something worth joining, start by following along, and tell us in the comments what brought you here.

We can grow organs in dishes and print bone. We still cannot make blood. 🩸

Not in any lab on Earth. Blood is not one substance but a living system of cells, proteins, platelets and plasma, and nobody has recreated it. Every unit in every hospital started inside a person who chose to give.

That is the fact behind every post we make. Science has not replaced the donor, and for a child who needs a transfusion every few weeks, the donor is the entire supply chain.

Tell us honestly: did you think blood could be manufactured? You would be in good company.

Your blood is always moving. Today is about what happens when it stops. 🩸

Thrombosis is a clot that forms where it should not, usually in a leg vein. If it travels to the lungs it becomes an emergency. The signs are ordinary enough to ignore: swelling or warmth in one leg, sudden breathlessness, chest pain. Please do not wait those out.

Why is a thalassemia foundation talking about this? Because people living with thalassemia can carry a higher clotting risk, so blood health is part of their everyday vigilance, and knowing the signs protects everyone around them too.

Move on long journeys. Drink enough water. Know your risk. Save this for someone who travels a lot.

Soaking in Colors, the full film. 🎨💛

On Saturday, our warriors, families, volunteers and the faculties of INDFAME Visual Art spent an afternoon at Center for Thalassemia & Blood Disorders, doing something most of us have not done since school: making greeting cards by hand.

Two hours. A lot of glitter. Cards that will travel to people who need a little colour in their week. And children who, for one afternoon, were artists first and warriors second.

This is what community care looks like when it is not an appointment. Watch till the end, and if it makes you smile, share it with someone who needs a reminder that joy is also something you can give.

Thank you to INDFAME Visual Art and Center for Thalassemia & Blood Disorders for opening their doors, and to every volunteer who showed up with a pair of scissors.

Yesterday, a room full of crayons, glitter and some very serious artists. 🎨

India Fine Arts and Media Education by D Geetha Bhascker ma’am has brought back the handwritten greeting card, facilitated by Paperdew. Thalassemia Warriors, volunteers and friends sat down together at Center for Thalassemia & Blood Disorders, made cards the way we all once did: colourful, a little imperfect, and full of love.

Every card made yesterday carries a small message of hope from a child fighting thalassemia to someone out there. Swipe through to see the afternoon.

Thank you to everyone who came to make a card, make a memory, and spread a little joy. đź’›

Grateful to D Geetha Bhascker ma’am for your constant support to Thalassemia cause.

The fight you cannot see. đź’›

On World Mental Health Day, a thought for the part of thalassemia that never shows up on a scan. The missed classes. The rearranged plans. The parent who carries the transfusion calendar in their head and never says how heavy it is.

Transfusion keeps a warrior alive. Being seen, asked and heard is what keeps the rest of the day livable. Talking is treatment too.

Today, check in on a warrior or a caregiver you know. Not a forward. A real “how are you, actually?” And if you are one, this community is here and you are not fighting alone.

Say hello to Boondh. 🩸

Boondh is one small drop with one big job, and it has decided to come out and talk. Over the coming months it will be the one explaining blood the way nobody explained it to us: what a single unit does once it leaves your arm, why one warrior needs a whole circle of donors, what the 350 rupee test is, and the odd bit of friendly maths.

Why a mascot? Because blood is easier to care about when it has a face, and the children who need it every few weeks deserve a story people actually enjoy following.

Boondh’s first question for you: do you know how many litres of blood you are carrying right now? Guess in the comments, Boondh will reveal it soon.
