Pench Mourns the Death of Senior Tigress Langdi (T-20)
https://www.penchnationalparkonline.in/
Senior tigress T-20, popularly known as the “Langdi Tigress” of Pench Tiger Reserve, was found dead on 7 March at 10:30 AM in the Munara Camp area of the Karmajhiri Range. Forest officials confirmed that the tigress died due to old age. Born in 2008, Langdi lived for nearly 18 years. During her lifetime, she gave birth to four litters and raised ten cubs, contributing significantly to the growth of the park’s tiger family. Langdi was also the sibling of the well-known tigress Collarwali. She was easily recognised because of a distinct limp, caused by a congenital deformity in one of her forepaws. This physical feature led to her being affectionately called the “Langdi Tigress.” Her last recorded sighting was on 6 March 2026.
