In view of reports regarding panic buying at certain petrol pumps in District Shopian, it is hereby clarified that adequate stocks of petrol and diesel are available across all fuel stations in the district. The supply position remains stable, and there is no cause for concern.

The general public is, therefore, advised to refrain from panic buying and avoid unnecessary rush at petrol pumps. Citizens are requested to purchase fuel only as per their routine requirements.

The District Administration has also directed all fuel outlets to ensure fair and transparent sale of fuel and to strictly adhere to prescribed norms.

It is further informed that the administration is closely monitoring the situation. Any instance of hoarding, black marketing, overcharging, or unauthorized sale of fuel in loose containers (such as bottles, cans, etc.) shall be dealt with strictly under the law.

The public is urged to cooperate with the administration in maintaining order and ensuring smooth availability of essential commodities.
