It was a privilege to participate in the Ex-Service Rally organized by the Indian Army at Masimpur Camp under Operation Sadbhavana. We were honored to showcase our agricultural and allied technologies at our stall, highlighting innovations nurtured by our center. Alongside us, Changning Leima Nursery, trained and supported by our institution, and our valued partner, Sinleima Weavers Producer Cooperative Society Limited, joined in to promote traditional handloom products and encourage local craftsmanship.The event provided a remarkable platform for fruitful interactions with senior officials of the regional defence cadre, fostering mutual understanding and strengthening bonds between the armed forces and civilian initiatives. This collaboration not only celebrated technological progress but also underscored the importance of community-driven development and cultural heritage.

The District Agriculture Office, Cachar organized a 2 day Kisan Mela from 11-12 March, 2026, at the Soil Testing Laboratory, Sadarghat, Silchar. Yesterday on 11th March, Sr. Scientist and Head, Dr. Suresh Ch. Biswas and SMS (plant protection), Dr. Himangshu Mishra, were present at tke Kisan Mela. It featured an intensive farmer-scientist interaction, during which Dr. Mishra directly addressed pressing agricultural challenges and offered specialized solutions for plant protection. KVK Cachar also setup a stall in the farmers' fair.

প্রশিক্ষণ কর্মসূচীর লক্ষ্য উন্নত চাষ পদ্ধতি, উপযুক্ত জাত, নার্সারি ব্যবস্থাপনা, রোপণ কৌশল, পুষ্টি ব্যবস্থাপনা, কীটপতঙ্গ ও রোগ ব্যবস্থাপনা এবং উন্নত উৎপাদনশীলতা এবং আয় বৃদ্ধির জন্য কোকো এবং কাজু চাষের অর্থনৈতিক গুরুত্ব সম্পর্কে কৃষকদের জ্ঞান বৃদ্ধি করা।

This is to inform all interested farmers, farm women, rural youth, entrepreneurs and extension personnel that Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Cachar will organize a Training Programme on Cocoa and Cashew Production Technologies.

The training programme aims to enhance farmers’ knowledge on improved cultivation practices, suitable varieties, nursery management, planting techniques, nutrient management, pest and disease management, and economic importance of cocoa and cashew cultivation for better productivity and income generation.

Today on 7th March, 2026 the 19th Scientific Advisory Committee meeting was held at B.R Ditta Auditorium KVK Cachar, AAU Jorhat. The meeting was graced by Chief guest Dr Manuranjan Neog, DEE AAU Jorhat. Dr. M.Neog DEE initially visited different demonstration units, Natural Farming units, and also inaugurated the campus' 2nd IFS unit, which is planned to later be converted to an Agro Eco tourism park. Soon after, SAC meeting started at 10 am which was chaired by DEE, AAU Jorhat. In the meeting, representing district line departments; present were: Dr. Rahul Chakroborty,DAO Cachar, Dr. Kalyan Pathak, DVO, Dr. Jitendra Bhuyan Asst Director District Veterinary office, Mr Ravisankar Likmabam DDM NABARD Cachar, Dr. Parveen Khan Scientist ZRS Sribhumi, Jyotimoyee Das, Niki Bora Fishery Devt officer, Dr. Tezbahadur Singh 2IC( Vet) BSF, Mr. Saikat Das, Sr FO IFFCO, Dr. P. Choudhury, SS & Head, KVK Sribhumi, two women Entrepreneurs, 8 nos. Of progressive farmers and Representative from Salchapra Agri and Horti FPC. The meeting started with a welcome address by Dr. S.C. Biswas, Sr Scientist and Head KVK. The meeting had a review of the KVK activities in 2025-26, followed by the proposed action plan for 2026-27. The meeting concluded with farmers interaction and suggestions.
