শিলচর, ২ অক্টোবর:— মহাত্মা গান্ধীর ১৫৭তম জন্মবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে শুক্রবার কাছাড় জেলার সর্বত্র পালিত হল গান্ধীজয়ন্তী। বিভিন্ন সরকারি বিভাগ , পুরসভা ও প্রশাসনিক প্রতিষ্ঠানের আধিকারিক এবং কর্মীরা জাতির জনক মহাত্মা গান্ধীর প্রতিকৃতিতে পুষ্পার্ঘ্য নিবেদন করার পাশাপাশি স্বচ্ছতা-সংক্রান্ত নানা কর্মসূচিতেও অংশ নেন।

শহরের পার্ক রোডে শহিদ স্মারকের কাছে গান্ধী বাগ পার্কে মূল অনুষ্ঠানটি অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সেখানে শিলচর পুরনিগমের এগজিকিউটিভ অফিসার, গান্ধী শান্তি প্রতিষ্ঠান-এর সদস্য এবং অন্যান্য আধিকারিকরা মহাত্মা গান্ধীর প্রতিকৃতিতে পুষ্পার্ঘ্য নিবেদন করেন।

অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষ গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হয় শহরের সাফাইকর্মীদেরও। শিলচর পুরনিগমের উদ্যোগে শ্রীষ্টি ওয়েস্ট ম্যানেজমেন্ট সার্ভিসেস-এর সহযোগিতায় শহরের পরিচ্ছন্নতা রক্ষায় গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালনকারী মহিলা সাফাইমিত্রদের হাতে তাঁদের কাজের স্বীকৃতি হিসেবে পিপিই কিট তুলে দেওয়া হয়।

এর পর গান্ধী বাগ পার্ক চত্বরে স্বচ্ছতা অভিযান পরিচালিত হয়। জনসাধারণের ব্যবহারের স্থানগুলিকে পরিচ্ছন্ন রাখার বার্তা ছড়িয়ে দেওয়া এবং জন-অংশগ্রহণের মাধ্যমে স্বচ্ছ ভারত-এর ভাবনাকে আরও সুদৃঢ় করাই ছিল এই কর্মসূচির মূল উদ্দেশ্য।

এর আগে শিলচরে কাছাড়ের জেলা আয়ুক্তের কার্যালয়ে অতিরিক্ত জেলা আয়ুক্ত মনোজ্যোতি কুটুম, এসিএস এবং কাছাড়ের সহকারী আয়ুক্ত অরুণাভ চৌধুরী, এসিএস মহাত্মা গান্ধীর প্রতিকৃতিতে পুষ্পার্ঘ্য নিবেদন করেন। জেলা আয়ুক্তের কার্যালয়ের প্রশাসনিক আধিকারিক প্রবীর কুর্মি, তপোজ্যোতি দত্ত-সহ জেলা প্রশাসনের অন্যান্য আধিকারিক এবং কর্মীরাও অনুষ্ঠানে অংশ নেন। এদিন অহিংসার শপথ পাঠ করা হয়। অতিরিক্ত জেলা আয়ুক্ত মনোজ্যোতি কুটুম, এসিএস, কাছাড়ের সহকারী আয়ুক্ত অরুণাভ চৌধুরী, এসিএস এবং অন্যান্য আধিকারিক ও কর্মীরা শান্তি ও অহিংসার সেই আদর্শকে পুনরায় স্মরণ করে শপথ গ্রহণ করেন, যা মহাত্মা গান্ধীর জীবন ও দর্শনের সঙ্গে ওতপ্রোতভাবে জড়িত।

এদিকে, শিলচরের অসম সরকারের তথ্য ও জনসংযোগ বিভাগের বরাক উপত্যকার আঞ্চলিক কার্যালয় শিলচরে গান্ধীজয়ন্তী পালিত হয়। কার্যালয় চত্বরে আধিকারিক ও কর্মীরা মহাত্মা গান্ধীর প্রতিকৃতিতে পুষ্পার্ঘ্য নিবেদন করে শ্রদ্ধা জানান।

সোনাই পুরসভাতেও নানা কর্মসূচির মধ্য দিয়ে গান্ধীজয়ন্তী পালিত হয়। মহাত্মা গান্ধীর জন্মবার্ষিকী স্মরণ করার পাশাপাশি তাঁর স্বচ্ছতা ও জনসেবার আদর্শকে সামনে রেখে অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়। অনুষ্ঠানের অংশ হিসেবে পুরসভার আধিকারিক ও কর্মীরা স্বচ্ছতা শপথ গ্রহণ করেন। সোনাইকে পরিচ্ছন্ন, স্বাস্থ্যকর ও স্বাস্থ্যসম্মত পরিবেশ হিসেবে গড়ে তোলার পাশাপাশি পরিচ্ছন্নতা বজায় রাখার অঙ্গীকারও তাঁরা পুনর্ব্যক্ত করেন।

একই ভাবে বদরপুর পুরসভাতেও মহাত্মা গান্ধীর জন্মবার্ষিকী স্মরণ করে গান্ধীজয়ন্তী পালন করা হয়। অনুষ্ঠানে আধিকারিক ও কর্মীরা অহিংসা এবং স্বচ্ছতার শপথ গ্রহণ করেন। এর মধ্য দিয়ে শান্তি, পরিচ্ছন্নতা এবং জনসেবার প্রতি তাঁদের দায়বদ্ধতার কথাও পুনরায় ব্যক্ত করা হয়।

গান্ধীজয়ন্তী উপলক্ষে কাছাড় জেলার বিভিন্ন সরকারি বিভাগ ও প্রতিষ্ঠানেও শপথ গ্রহণ করা হয়। আধিকারিক ও কর্মীরা মহাত্মা গান্ধীর সঙ্গে অঙ্গাঙ্গিভাবে যুক্ত অহিংসা, পরিচ্ছন্নতা ও জনসেবার আদর্শের প্রতি তাঁদের অঙ্গীকার পুনর্ব্যক্ত করেন।

গান্ধী বাগের অনুষ্ঠানে সাফাইমিত্রদের সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণ এদিনের কর্মসূচিকে মহাত্মা গান্ধীর পরিচ্ছন্নতার বার্তার সঙ্গে আরও নিবিড়ভাবে যুক্ত করে তোলে। একই সঙ্গে প্রতিদিন শহর ও জনসাধারণের ব্যবহারের স্থানগুলি পরিচ্ছন্ন রাখার কাজে নিয়োজিত কর্মীদের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকার কথাও সামনে আসে।

Gandhi Jayanti observed across Cachar with tributes, Swachhata drive;

SafaiMitras honoured with PPE kits; tributes paid at Gandhi Bagh, DC office and DDIPR,Sonai & Badarpur Municipal Board

SILCHAR, October 2:— Gandhi Jayanti was observed across Cachar on Friday with government officials, civic authorities and employees paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his 157th birth anniversary and taking part in cleanliness-related activities.

At Gandhi Bagh Park on Park Road near Shahid Smarak, the main observance saw the Executive Officer of Silchar Municipal Corporation, members of Gandhi Shanti Pratisthan and other officials paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi.

The programme also turned attention to the city’s sanitation workers. Silchar Municipal Corporation, in association with Shrishti Waste Management Services, distributed PPE kits to women SafaiMitras in recognition of their work in maintaining cleanliness in the city.

A Swachhata drive was subsequently conducted across the Gandhi Bagh Park premises. The activity sought to promote cleanliness in public spaces and reinforce the message of Swachh Bharat through community participation.

Earlier, at the District Commissioner’s office in Silchar, Additional District Commissioner Manojyoti Kutum, ACS, and Assistant Commissioner, Cachar, Arunabh Choudhury, ACS, paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. Officials and staff of the DC’s establishment, including Administrative Officer Prabir Kurmi, Topojyoti Dutta and other district administration officials also participated in the observance. On the occasion, a pledge on non-violence was also taken by ADC Manojyoti Kutum, ACS, Assistant Commissioner, Cachar, Arunabh Choudhury, ACS along with officials and staff, reaffirming the values of peace and non-violence associated with Mahatma Gandhi.

Meanwhile, the Regional Office of Information & Public Relations, Barak Valley Zone, Silchar also observed the day. Officials and staff paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at the office premises.

Gandhi Jayanti was also observed by the Sonai Municipal Board with a programme commemorating the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and upholding his ideals of cleanliness and public service. As part of the observance, officials and staff took the Swachhata Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining cleanliness and promoting a clean, healthy and hygienic environment in Sonai.

Similarly, the Badarpur Municipal Board observed Gandhi Jayanti with a programme commemorating the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. On the occasion, pledges on non-violence and Swachhata were also taken by officials and staff, reiterating the values of peace, cleanliness and public responsibility.

A pledge was also taken across various government offices and institutions in Cachar district on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, with officials and staff reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of non violence, cleanliness and public service associated with Mahatma Gandhi.

The participation of SafaiMitras in the Gandhi Bagh programme gave the day’s observance a direct connection with Mahatma Gandhi’s message on cleanliness and the daily work of those responsible for keeping public spaces clean.

শিলচর, ২ অক্টোবর:- শনিবার শিলচর পুর নিগম নির্বাচন। তার আগে শুক্রবার সকাল ৭টা থেকে ভোটগ্রহণকর্মীদের হাতে ভোটগ্রহণের প্রয়োজনীয় সামগ্রী তুলে দেওয়ার কাজ শুরু হয়। ব্যালট বাক্স এবং অন্যান্য প্রয়োজনীয় সামগ্রী সংগ্রহ করে একে একে নিজ নিজ নির্ধারিত ভোটকেন্দ্রের উদ্দেশে রওনা দেন নির্বাচনে নিযুক্ত ভোটগ্রহণ কর্মীরা।

কাছাড়ের জেলাশাসক তথা জেলা নির্বাচন আধিকারিক রাহুল কুমার গুপ্তা, আইএএস, অন্যান্য পদস্থ নির্বাচন আধিকারিকদের সঙ্গে নিয়ে ভোটগ্রহণ সামগ্রী বিতরণের প্রক্রিয়া তদারকি করেন। একই সঙ্গে নির্বিঘ্নে ভোটগ্রহণ সম্পন্ন করার জন্য নেওয়া বিভিন্ন ব্যবস্থাও খতিয়ে দেখেন তিনি। প্রয়োজনীয় সামগ্রী গ্রহণের পর বিতরণ কেন্দ্রেই ভোটগ্রহণকর্মীদের খাবারের ব্যবস্থা করা হয়। খাবার সেরে তাঁরা নিজেদের নির্ধারিত ভোটকেন্দ্রের উদ্দেশে রওনা দেন।

শুক্রবার আইএসটিটিতে ভোটগ্রহণ সামগ্রী বিতরণের সময় সংবাদমাধ্যমের সঙ্গে কথা বলতে গিয়ে জেলা শাসক তথা জেলা নির্বাচন আধিকারিক রাহুল কুমার গুপ্তা জানান, আগামীকাল, ৩ অক্টোবর শিলচর পুর নিগমের নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। ৯ ও ২০ নম্বর ওয়ার্ডে প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতা না থাকায় ওই দুই ওয়ার্ড বাদ দিয়ে মোট ৪০টি ওয়ার্ডে ভোটগ্রহণ হবে। ভোটগ্রহণের জন্য ৩০৩টি ভোটকেন্দ্রের ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে। গোটা ভোটগ্রহণ ব্যবস্থাকে ১৮টি সেক্টর এবং ছয়টি জোনে ভাগ করা হয়েছে। এই নির্বাচনে প্রায় ২.৭০ লক্ষ ভোটার তাঁদের ভোটাধিকার প্রয়োগ করবেন বলে আশা করা হচ্ছে।

নির্বাচনী ব্যবস্থার কথা বিস্তারিত জানাতে গিয়ে জেলাশাসক বলেন, ১৮টি সেক্টরের প্রতিটির দায়িত্বে থাকবেন একজন সেক্টর আধিকারিক এবং একজন পুলিশ সেক্টর আধিকারিক। তাঁরা ভোটগ্রহণের সামগ্রিক ব্যবস্থার উপর নজর রাখার পাশাপাশি বিশেষ করে নিরাপত্তা সংক্রান্ত বিষয়গুলি দেখবেন এবং কোনও ভোটকেন্দ্রে সমস্যা দেখা দিলে দ্রুত ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করবেন। নির্বাচনের জন্য প্রায় ১,৫০০ জন ভোটগ্রহণকর্মী মোতায়েন করা হচ্ছে। শুক্রবার তাঁরা ভোটগ্রহণের প্রয়োজনীয় সামগ্রী নিয়ে নিজ নিজ ভোটকেন্দ্রের উদ্দেশে রওনা হয়েছেন। পাশাপাশি অতিরিক্ত নিরাপত্তা এবং ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট পর্যায়ের ব্যবস্থাও করা হয়েছে বলে জানান তিনি।

জেলা নির্বাচন আধিকারিক জানান, ভোটকেন্দ্রগুলিতে সেক্টর আধিকারিকরা নির্বাচনী ব্যবস্থায় সজাগ নজরদারির ভূমিকা পালন করবেন। ভোটগ্রহণ চলাকালীন কোনও সমস্যা দেখা দিলে তা দ্রুত সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষের নজরে এনে নির্ধারিত নিয়ম ও পদ্ধতি অনুযায়ী ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে। ৩ অক্টোবর ভোটারদের বিপুল সংখ্যায় ভোটকেন্দ্রে এসে নিজেদের ভোটাধিকার প্রয়োগ করার আহ্বান জানান তিনি। পাশাপাশি ভোটারদের ইপিআইসি কার্ডের সঙ্গে নির্ধারিত অন্যান্য পরিচয়পত্রও সঙ্গে রাখার আবেদন জানান।

শুক্রবার আইএসটিটিতে সংবাদমাধ্যমের সঙ্গে কথা বলতে গিয়ে কাছাড়ের সিনিয়র সুপারিনটেনডেন্ট অব পুলিশ পার্থ প্রতিম দাস, আইপিএস জানান, শিলচর পুর নিগম নির্বাচন শান্তিপূর্ণ ও নির্বিঘ্নে সম্পন্ন করতে প্রায় ৭০০ জন পুলিশকর্মী মোতায়েন করা হয়েছে। নির্বাচন কমিশনের নির্দেশিকা মেনেই এই মোতায়েন করা হয়েছে। পুর নিগম এলাকার বিভিন্ন ভোটকেন্দ্রে পুলিশকর্মীদের পাশাপাশি হোমগার্ডদেরও দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছে।

এসএসপি জানান, যেসব এলাকায় গোলমালের সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে, সেসব এলাকার জন্য পৃথক পুলিশ বাহিনীও নির্দিষ্ট করে রাখা হয়েছে। নির্বাচনী নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থার অংশ হিসেবে পুলিশ সেক্টর এবং জোনাল সেক্টর আধিকারিকরা ভোটকেন্দ্রগুলির পাশাপাশি ভোটগ্রহণ চলাকালীন সামগ্রিক নিরাপত্তা পরিস্থিতির উপর নজর রাখবেন। জেলা স্তরের পুলিশ আধিকারিকরাও নিয়মিত টহল দেবেন এবং বিভিন্ন ভোটকেন্দ্রে গিয়ে নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থা খতিয়ে দেখবেন।

সিনিয়র সুপারিনটেনডেন্ট অব পুলিশ জানান, ভোটগ্রহণ প্রক্রিয়া শান্তিপূর্ণ ও নির্বিঘ্নে সম্পন্ন হবে বলেই পুলিশ আশা করছে। তিনি আরও জানান, ৩ অক্টোবর সকাল ৭টা ৩০ মিনিটে ভোটগ্রহণ শুরু হয়ে বিকেল ৪টা পর্যন্ত চলবে।

উল্লেখ্য, ভোটগ্রহণের পদ্ধতি এবং নিজেদের দায়িত্ব সম্পর্কে গত কয়েক সপ্তাহ ধরে ভোটগ্রহণকর্মীদের প্রশিক্ষণ ও ব্রিফিং দেওয়া হয়েছে। প্রশিক্ষণ ও প্রয়োজনীয় নির্দেশনা পাওয়ার পর এবার তাঁদের হাতে ভোটগ্রহণের সামগ্রী তুলে দেওয়া হয়েছে। ৩ অক্টোবর নির্ধারিত নির্দেশিকা মেনে সুষ্ঠু, অবাধ ও নির্বিঘ্নে ভোটগ্রহণ সম্পন্ন করার দায়িত্ব তাঁদের উপর অর্পিত হয়েছে।

এ দিকে, ভোটগ্রহণকর্মীদের নিজ নিজ নির্ধারিত ভোটকেন্দ্রে যাওয়ার পথে যাতে কোনও অসুবিধা না হয়, সে জন্য কাছাড় জেলা প্রশাসনের পক্ষ থেকে জলখাবার, খাবার, পরিবহণ এবং তাঁদের অন্যান্য কল্যাণমূলক প্রয়োজনের ব্যবস্থাও করা হয়েছে।

উল্লেখ্য, নির্বাচনী ব্যবস্থার অংশ হিসেবে শিলচর পুর নিগম এলাকায় ১০টি মহিলা পরিচালিত ভোটকেন্দ্রও স্থাপন করা হয়েছে। ওই কেন্দ্রগুলিতে মহিলা ভোটগ্রহণকর্মীরাই ভোটগ্রহণের সম্পূর্ণ প্রক্রিয়া পরিচালনার দায়িত্বে থাকবেন।

ভোটগ্রহণ সামগ্রী বিতরণের কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হওয়ার পর ব্যালট বাক্স, ভোটগ্রহণের অন্যান্য সামগ্রী এবং প্রয়োজনীয় সরঞ্জাম নিয়ে ভোটগ্রহণ দলগুলি নিজ নিজ নির্ধারিত ভোটকেন্দ্রের উদ্দেশে যাত্রা অব্যাহত রাখে। ভোটের দিন যত এগিয়ে আসছে, জেলা নির্বাচন ব্যবস্থার পক্ষ থেকে প্রস্তুতির উপর ততই নিবিড় নজর রাখা হচ্ছে।

জেলা প্রশাসনের পক্ষ থেকে সমস্ত ভোটার ও সংশ্লিষ্ট সকলের কাছে ভোটগ্রহণকর্মীদের সহযোগিতা করার এবং ভোটকেন্দ্রে শান্তি ও শৃঙ্খলা বজায় রাখার আবেদন জানানো হয়েছে। ভোটারদেরও দায়িত্বশীল ভাবে নিজেদের ভোটাধিকার প্রয়োগ করার পাশাপাশি ভোটগ্রহণ আধিকারিকদের নির্দেশ মেনে চলার আহ্বান জানানো হয়েছে।

Polling materials distributed as Silchar Municipal Corporation Election enters final stage

SILCHAR, October 2: --Distribution of polling materials among polling personnel for the Silchar Municipal Corporation Election 2026 began at 7 am in friday with election teams collecting ballot boxes and other essential polling materials before proceeding to their respective polling stations.

Cachar District Commissioner and District Election Officer Rahul Kumar Gupta, IAS along with senior election officials, supervised the distribution process and reviewed the arrangements for the smooth conduct of polling. Election personnel, after receiving the required materials and having their meals at the distribution centre, proceeded towards their assigned polling stations to take up their duties.

While speaking to media persons during the distribution process at the ISTT on Friday, District Commissioner and District Election Officer Rahul Kumar Gupta said that polling for the Silchar Municipal Corporation Election 2026 would be held tomorrow, October 3 in 40 wards as Ward Nos. 9 and 20 are uncontested. He informed that 303 polling stations have been arranged for polling and that the polling network has been divided into 18 sectors and six zones. Approximately 2.70 lakh voters are expected to exercise their franchise in the election.

Elaborating on the arrangements, the District Commissioner said that each of the 18 sectors has been placed under the supervision of a sector official and a police sector officer to oversee the polling arrangements, particularly security related aspects and to respond promptly to any problem that may arise at the polling stations. He said that around 1,500 polling personnel are being deployed for the election and that they would move to their respective polling stations with the polling materials on Friday. He said that additional security and magistrate level arrangements have been put in place.

The District Election Officer said that the sector officers would function as the “eyes and ears” of the election machinery at the polling stations and would ensure that any issue arising during the polling process is promptly brought to the notice of the concerned authorities and addressed in accordance with the prescribed procedures. He appealed to voters to turn out in large numbers and carry their EPIC cards along with the other prescribed identification documents while visiting their polling stations on October 3.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Cachar, Partha Pratim Das, IPS while speaking to media persons at the ISTT on Friday, said that around 700 police personnel have been deployed for the Silchar Municipal Corporation election to ensure peaceful and smooth polling. He said the deployment has been made in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission with police personnel and Home Guards assigned to polling stations across the corporation area.

The SSP said that separate police forces have also been earmarked for areas where there is a possibility of disturbance. He said that the election security arrangements include police sector and zonal sector officers who will monitor the polling stations and the overall security situation during the voting process. District level police officers will also conduct regular patrolling and visit polling centres to monitor the security arrangements.

The Senior Superintendent of Police said that the police expect the polling process to pass off smoothly and peacefully. He further informed that polling would begin at 7:30 am and continue until 4 pm on October 3.

It's worth mentioning that the polling personnel have undergone training and briefing over the past several weeks regarding polling procedures and their respective responsibilities. They have now been entrusted with the task of ensuring that polling on October 3 is conducted smoothly, fairly and in accordance with the prescribed guidelines.

Meanwhile the District Administration, Cachar has made arrangements for refreshments, meals, transportation and other welfare requirements of the polling personnel to facilitate their departure to the assigned polling stations without inconvenience.

Notably ,as part of the election arrangements, 10 women-run polling stations have also been set up in Silchar Municipal Corporation where women polling personnel will be responsible for conducting the polling process.

Following the completion of the distribution process, polling teams continued their journey to their respective polling stations with the election materials and equipment required for polling. The arrangements are being closely monitored by the district election machinery as polling day approaches.

The District Administration has appealed to all voters and stakeholders to extend cooperation to the election personnel and maintain peace and discipline at the polling stations. Voters have also been urged to exercise their franchise responsibly and follow the instructions of the polling officials.

শিলচর, সেপ্টেম্বর ২৮:---শিলচর পৌর নিগম নির্বাচন, ২০২৬-এর ভোটগণনার প্রস্তুতিতে ডিকোডিং কর্মী, গণনাসূচক, গণনা করা ব্যালট ও অন্যান্য সংশ্লিষ্ট কাগজপত্র সিল করার দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত কর্মী এবং পরিবহণ আধিকারিকদের বিশেষ প্রশিক্ষণের আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। আগামী ৩০ সেপ্টেম্বর শিলচরের কাছাড় কলেজে এই প্রশিক্ষণ অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। প্রশিক্ষণ শুরু হবে দুপুর ২টা থেকে।

SMC election counting teams to undergo specialised training on September 30

SILCHAR, Sept 28:-- Training for Decoding Staff, Tabulators, personnel engaged in the sealing of counted ballots and other connected papers, and Transit Officers detailed for the counting of votes for the Silchar Municipal Corporation Election, 2026, will be held at Cachar College, Silchar, on September 30 from 2 PM onwards.

As per order , the following ALMTs and Master Trainers have been detailed to impart training to the respective categories of personnel.

For Decoding Staff, training will be held in Room No. 008 by Dr. Gongesh Bhattacharjee, ALMT and Assistant Professor, JNS College, Udharbond, and Dr. Swapan Das, ALMT and Assistant Professor, JNS College, Udharbond.

For Tabulators, the training will be conducted in Room No. 009 by S.B. Dutta Choudhury, Resource Person, Training Cell, Silchar Municipal Corporation Election, 2026 and Kishore Kumar Deb, ALMT and Assistant Teacher, H.B.D.S., Rajabazar, M.V. School.

Training on the sealing of counted ballots and other connected papers will be held in Room No. 010 by Sri Surojit Acharjee, ALMT and Assistant Teacher, Niranjan Paul Institute, Silchar, and Dr. Sandip Debnath, ALMT and PGT, DNNK H.S. School, Silchar.

For Transit Officers, training will be conducted in Room No. 016 by Dr. Pankaj Goswami, ALMT and Lecturer, Silchar Polytechnic, Silchar, and Jogendra Chandra Das, ALMT and Assistant Headmaster, KBJR Memorial HS School, Udharbond.

The training has been organised to familiarise the personnel with the procedures and responsibilities associated with their respective duties during the counting of votes.

The training will commence at 2 PM on September 30 at Cachar College, Silchar.

শিলচর, ২৭ সেপ্টেম্বর:-- শিলচর পুরনিগমের নির্বাচন উপলক্ষে আগামী ৩ অক্টোবর, ২০২৬ শনিবার, শিলচর পুরনিগমের আওতাভুক্ত এলাকায় সাধারণ ছুটি ঘোষণা করেছে অসম সরকার। অসমের রাজ্যপাল এ বিষয়ে একটি বিজ্ঞপ্তি জারি করে ৩ অক্টোবর শিলচর পুরনিগমের নির্বাচনের ভোটগ্রহণের দিন হিসেবে ওই এলাকার জন্য সরকারি ছুটি ঘোষণা করেছেন।

বিজ্ঞপ্তি অনুযায়ী, ৩ অক্টোবর শিলচর পুরনিগমের আওতাধীন এলাকার সমস্ত রাজ্য সরকারি বিভাগ এবং শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান বন্ধ থাকবে। ভোটগ্রহণের দিন উপলক্ষে এই ছুটি কার্যকর থাকবে।

একই সঙ্গে শিলচর পুরনিগম এলাকার সমস্ত আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠানও ওই দিন বন্ধ থাকবে। Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881-এর ২৫ নম্বর ধারার অধীনে, ভারত সরকারের স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রকের সংশ্লিষ্ট বিধান অনুযায়ী এই ছুটি কার্যকর করা হয়েছে।

Public holiday declared in Silchar on October 3 for Municipal Corporation poll

SILCHAR, September 27:-- The Governor of Assam has been pleased to declare October 3, 2026 Saturday as a public holiday within the jurisdiction of the Silchar Municipal Corporation on account of the poll for the Silchar Municipal Corporation Election.

As per a notification issued in this regard, all State Government offices and educational institutions located within the Silchar Municipal Corporation area shall remain closed on October 3 on account of the public holiday.

The notification further states that all financial institutions within the Silchar Municipal Corporation area shall also remain closed on the day in accordance with Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, as applicable under the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs.

শিলচর, ২৩ সেপ্টেম্বর:-- আসন্ন শিলচর পৌর নিগম ( মিউনিসিপ্যাল কর্পোরেশন) নির্বাচন ২০২৬-কে সামনে রেখে ডাকযোগে ব্যালট পেপারের মাধ্যমে ভোটগ্রহণের দিনক্ষণ ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। নির্ধারিত সময়ের মধ্যে অ্যাপ্লিকেশন ফর্ম-২০-এর মাধ্যমে আবেদন করা যোগ্য ভোটারদের ডাকযোগে ব্যালট পেপারে ভোটগ্রহণ হবে আগামী ২৬ সেপ্টেম্বর, শনিবার।

শিলচরের সরকারি উচ্চতর মাধ্যমিক বালিকা এবং মাল্টিপারপাস বিদ্যালয়ে এই ভোটগ্রহণ অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। সকাল ৯টা ৩০ মিনিট থেকে বিকেল ৫টা পর্যন্ত ভোট দেওয়ার সুযোগ থাকবে।

নির্ধারিত সময়ের মধ্যে ফর্ম-২০-তে আবেদন করা সংশ্লিষ্ট ভোটারদের জন্য এই ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে। নির্বাচন কর্তৃপক্ষের নির্ধারিত নিয়ম ও পদ্ধতি মেনেই ডাকযোগে ব্যালটের মাধ্যমে ভোটগ্রহণ সম্পন্ন করা হবে।

এসএমসি নির্বাচনকে কেন্দ্র করে ভোটগ্রহণ প্রক্রিয়ার বিভিন্ন প্রস্তুতির অংশ হিসাবেই এই ডাকযোগে ব্যালট ভোটের আয়োজন। নির্ধারিত কেন্দ্রে ভোটগ্রহণ যাতে সুষ্ঠু ও নির্বিঘ্ন ভাবে সম্পন্ন হয়, সে জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে।

নির্বাচন-সংক্রান্ত এই বিষয়টি ‘এসএমসি নির্বাচন জরুরি’ হিসেবে গণ্য করার জন্য সংশ্লিষ্ট সকলকে জানানো হয়েছে।
