Sikander Malik Urges CM, LG to Provide Immediate Relief to Hailstorm-Affected Farmers in Bandipora
Bandipora, October 8: Mohammad Sikander Malik, District Patron, Bandipora, and Constituency In-charge, Bandipora, has urged the Chief Minister and Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to ensure immediate assessment of the losses caused by the hailstorm in several areas of Bandipora district.
Malik said that the hailstorm has damaged apple orchards, paddy crops and vegetable fields, leaving farmers facing substantial financial losses at a critical stage of the agricultural season.
He urged the administration to constitute assessment teams and conduct an on-the-spot assessment of the damage without delay. He further appealed to the Chief Minister and Lieutenant Governor to ensure adequate compensation and relief to the affected farmers.
“Farmers depend on their crops and orchards for their livelihood. At this difficult time, the administration must stand firmly with them and ensure that genuine losses are assessed fairly and compensation is released without unnecessary delay,” Malik said.
He also called upon the Horticulture and Agriculture Departments to remain in close coordination with affected communities and expedite the damage-assessment process.
