The demise of a female tiger found in the forests of Darigaon village in Kagaznagar forest division has been attributed to a territorial fight, as stated by the Chief Wildlife Warden. Marks indicating injuries on the neck and abdomen, coupled with hair samples in the mouth likely belonging to another tiger, led officials to rule out electrocution and poisoning, initially suspected causes. A press statement released on Sunday highlighted the absence of evidence suggesting hunting through snares, traps, or electrocution.

Veterinary doctors, part of the investigative team led by district forest officer Niraj Tibrewal, concluded that the incident was a result of a territorial dispute between tigers. The examination revealed a fractured right hind leg with dried blood, but veterinarians dismissed the possibility of poisoning. The tiger’s decomposed carcass, estimated to be around one-and-a-half years old, was discovered during patrolling, indicating a probable occurrence three or four days prior. The incident, located in the tiger corridor of Kawal Tiger Reserve, was handled in accordance with the protocol of the Indian tiger authority (NTCA) and documented appropriately.

The Rarest of the Rare sightings !🐻❤ I've always wanted to sight a grizzly bear with it's cubs, but never in my dreams did I imagine sighting a sloth bear with her cubs which are less than 2 months old and that too in Bandhavgarh ! ( A national park with low sloth bear population)

We found this sloth-bear on our very first safari which made it a remarkable one! We initially assumed it to be a male sloth-bear while looking at it from afar , but only when we got closer we spotted 2 cubs holding onto their mother's back since they were unable to keep up with their mother's pace :)
