Awareness Programme on “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” Held in Kupwara
Kupwara, May 29: Sankalp – Hub for Empowerment of Women (SHEW), under the Mission Shakti initiative of the Department of Social Welfare, Kupwara, today organized a Mega Awareness Programme on the theme “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao”.
The event was graced by DDC Mawar, Khursheed Ahmad Dar, Principal & Cluster Head, Sanzipora,Rakesh Kumar,. Among others, Khalida Yasin, TSWO Handwara, and the District Mission Coordinator, SHEW Kupwara, alongside members of civil society, students from various schools, and other key stakeholders.
As part of the programme, Team SHEW distributed educational kits to female students from the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community, promoting education and inclusivity. The event aimed at creating awareness and encouraging the holistic development of young girls, fostering an environment of empowerment and equal opportunity.
A highlight of the event was the BBBP (Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao) pledge, taken collectively by all guests and attendees, reaffirming their commitment to the cause of girl child empowerment. Additionally, five saplings were planted to mark the occasion, symbolizing growth, sustainability, and a brighter future for the girls of the district.
This initiative reflects the department's ongoing commitment to raising awareness about gender equality and promoting the welfare and education of the girl child in Kupwara district.

KUPWARA, MAY 26: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of implementation of e-Office 2.0 in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of adopting e-Office in letter and spirit across the district to ensure transparency, efficiency and timely disposal of official correspondence and files.
She directed the concerned officers to expedite the operationalisation of e-Office at Block and Tehsil levels without further delay. All the departments were directed to submit the details of the staff to NIC for onboarding of the officials for e-office 2.0.
District Informatics Officer was directed to assess and address any infrastructure gaps urgently and was also directed for redressal of technical issues faced during the operationalisation process by the departments.

The DC enjoined upon the officers to make collaborative efforts to ensure implementation of e-office across all blocks and tehsils within the stipulated time frame. She warned the departments about strict action in case of deliberate delaying in the implementation process.

All the district officers other concerned were present on the occasion.
