This is the reason I stay away from the buzz of social media. You cannot condemn falsehood or speak the truth openly, because you may be harshly punished for expressing any truth that others find difficult to accept. Speaking the truth is like holding fire in your palm.
Muhaddiths, ulama, and scholars are often dismissed as “molvies,” while a person who merely knows English or Arabic as languages—without true knowledge—is considered an Aalim or scholar. I believe that to err is human, but elevating a human being above the level of angels just to sustain one’s ideology is a serious mistake.
At the same time, one should maintain good manners while speaking—expressing thoughts with patience and respect, without being vulgar or hurting others’ sentiments to the extent that it causes deep pain.
Therefore, social media should be used in a positive and responsible way.
