It is deeply unfortunate that NHM employees—including doctors, paramedical staff and nurses—have been on protest for so many days in Jammu & Kashmir.
Everyone knows that NHM employees are the backbone of our healthcare system, especially at a time when the Health Department is already facing a serious shortage of staff.
While healthcare workers are struggling for their legitimate demands, it is ultimately the common people who are suffering, and patients are bearing the consequences. The impact is particularly severe on poor and underprivileged families who cannot afford treatment in private hospitals.
At a time when the healthcare system needs urgent attention and intervention, the government cannot afford to remain indifferent.
Our healthcare workers deserve to be heard, respected and supported. Their genuine grievances must be addressed without further delay.
And while patients struggle to access healthcare and NHM employees remain on protest, our Hon’ble Chief Minister and elected representatives appear busy enjoying a film festival.
Healthcare cannot wait. Patients cannot wait. NHM employees cannot be ignored.
