Basic Mountaineering Course 155 successfully concluded at Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering & Winter Sports (JIM&WS). The course witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing different parts of the nation. The training was conducted in three phases—Rock Craft, Ice Craft, and the final phase at Machoi Glacier—providing participants with comprehensive exposure to mountaineering techniques, glacier travel, and high-altitude living.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Colonel Hem Chandra Sing, Principal JIM&WS, and Colonel Vikas Dhuria (Retd.), who congratulated the participants and encouraged them to continue pursuing excellence in mountaineering and adventure sports.

Ongoing Special Adventure Course No. 413 at Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering & Winter Sports, Pahalgam.
From thrilling rappelling sessions on rocky cliffs to learning survival skills in the wild, the trainees are experiencing the true spirit of adventure and outdoor learning.
The course also includes river crossing techniques, tent pitching exercises, and a scenic yet challenging trek to the beautiful Betaab Valley — pushing participants beyond their comfort zones while building confidence, teamwork, and endurance.

The trainees BMC-155 are undergoing intensive training in various essential mountaineering skills including climbing, rappelling, river crossing, base making, knots & hitches, and many other adventure activities that prepare them for real mountain challenges.

Over 10 unforgettable days, cadets experienced the true spirit of adventure through rock climbing, rappelling, trekking, river crossing, and survival training — building leadership, discipline, teamwork, and resilience in the lap of the mountains.
The course stood as a perfect example of unity in diversity, bringing together young minds from across the nation under the spirit of adventure and national integration.
