It is extremely painful and disturbing that the people of Shalimar were compelled to wait for nearly three hours to arrange water for the ghusl of a deceased person.

What makes the situation even more shocking is that Shalimar, despite being located near Harwan—the main source of water supply for a large part of Srinagar city—was without water. Such a scenario in the 21st century is hard to comprehend.

While the concerned department claims to have spent thousands of crores on various schemes, the ground reality tells a completely different story...
